I'd call that an improvement, for sure. Hard to tell in this pic, but the new offset looks less tucked than the OEM 17's, but not so aggresive to need a drop.
Since you spent much less than more expensive rims and all the costs that can creep with a drop, did you apply those savings towards 3-season tires?

Yes, the new wheels sit about 11mm (not quite 1/2") further out. I wanted to get as close to the stock offset as possible so as not to look too odd without lowering.
I went with Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position tires because of a combination of good reviews and lower cost.
I guess they're more of a summer time, but hey, I live in sunny California!
