My OEM high beams are always on.

The title explains it more or less. My low beams are sharp and bright but if I flip on my high beams and at any point turn them back off, the driver side stays on high. After a ton of flicking the switch and just going out to bang on the headlight it will turn back off. Some googling brought up maybe a bad solenoid or cheap ballasts but these are OEM. Any ideas or tips? I just bought the car yesterday and didn't think to check this during the day so if this has been beaten to death and answered I apologize, I couldn't find anything through searching besides painting housings, replacing bulbs etc etc..

We have bi-xenon projectors that have a actuator that lifts this flap behind the projector to shoot the light up. I think that's your issue, I can't see this relating to your ballast at all. If the car is under warranty, I'd definitely bring it in.

The cheaper and more labor intensive way would be to purchase a G37 projector from the retrofit source. Crack the headlights apart, and swap the projector. The more expensive, less labor intensive way is to buy a oem used headlight on Ebay.
