Tag lights and rear running lights stopped working!

Anybody have advise? I'm without tag lights and running lights!

All this happen after I was trying to figure out why one tag light was out after I just bought new ones. I contacted company and they emailed me a way to troubleshoot the light bulb so I tried it that way. In the process of trying to fix the one bulb that was out, it did a quick flicker and now neither tag light no longer works. My rear turn signals still work. Just not the running lights!

HELP!!!!!

Don't know what year you're driving but I bet it has fuses. Seems like you might have popped one. For 2013 I think the fuses involved are 52 & 53 on the IPDM (behind the battery).

When you say "you have checked all fuses" did you remove, visually inspect and check the resistance (should be 0) of fuse 52 (tag & rear running lights) and 53 (front running lights)?

The problem is either a fuse, relay or the IPDM.

Do the front running lights work?

Did you use a meter to test/check the fuses or did you just visually look at them?

Have you looked into following the FSM?

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G37/Sedan/2011/EXL.pdf

See page EXL-22

EXL-99

Use a multimeter for testing

Good Luck

I am thinking you checked the fuses by the steering wheel. Our cars have multiple locations for fuses.

Fuse 52 is located on the IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module ) right next to the battery, which is under a cover on the left side of the engine. By the way E/R = engine room.

You will need to remove the battery to get access to it. See the factory shop manual: PCS, page 33 for detailed instructions: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G37/Sedan/2011/PCS.pdf

Ok cool I'll check that tonight. I haven't checked under the battery. I have seen the one next it but had no idea about the one under it

Also make sure the bulb is positioned properly in the housing, if the bulb is not turned the correct way for the contacts it will make it seem like a shortage or the bulb is dead. I learned that when I was installing my LED license plate lights and reverse lights. I almost cussed out the company i bought from glad I checked again before picking up the phone lol

The IPDM is on the left side of the battery, not under it. Removing the battery gives easy access to it.

Thanks! I'm glad it was something (kind of) easy and low cost to fix.
