the tires on my 2012 G37 must have been rotated by a non Infiniti dealer and now the location sensor ID's are not correct. Now the front left tire is actually on the rear right.

Anyone know how to change the locations of what the computers things without moving the wheels ?

How do you know the car's computer sees the sensors in the wrong place? Is the TPS light coming on?

I purchased these two items from Amazon so I can do a winter wheel changeover myself every year. One device reads the sensors at each wheel and the other programs the car's computer.



Or you might be able to just bring it to the same shop or a different one or the dealer on your next oil change or something and have them do it for you. Some will do it for free. The shop that rotated your tires really should have done it themselves as part of the rotation.

 

I got the light because one tire was low. I plugged in my autoengenuity computer, and it showed that front left was at 26psi. However it was actually the rear right that was at 26psi. I checked the other wheels and all where at the wrong location ...

 

I just found a procedure in the service manual to set the correct locations.

Tire position Tire pressure kPa (kg/cm2, psi)
Front LH 240 (2.4, 35)
Front RH 220 (2.2, 31)
Rear RH 200 (2.0, 29)
Rear LH 180 (1.8, 26)

Drive the vehicle at a speed at more than 40 km/h (25 MPH) for 3 minutes or more, then perform the tire
pressure sensor ID registration procedure.

Not sure if the 'consult' tools is absolutely necessary for this.

You won't see any issue neither do I really.

but when the light comes on that one of the tires is low on air, and I connected my computer to the car, it shows that front left tire is at 26psi. The problem is that the wheel that the car things is front left is actually installed on the rear right.

Not really a problem I guess, but I would prefer is if the locations of each sensor would match what the car thinks it is ..... etc.
