this should be an easy question...

I'm throwing around the idea of some new shoes and want to make sure I get the appropriate offset.

I currently have the stock 18" duckfeet (awd xs model) which I *think* are 7.5" wide and +45mm offset. I have 20mm spacers. This fit works well for my current ride height.

Does this equate to +65mm offset?

according to this calculator
1010TIRES.COM - Wheel Offset Calculator

if I wanted to get an 8.5" wide wheel with the same outer position I would need +78mm offset which seems awfully high so I suspect I'm wrong somewhere

Anytime you add a spacer you get less positive w/ your offset, so a +45 w/ 20mm spacer is a new offset of +25.

Well that makes a lot more sense!

So... the above calculator shows that to match the outer position of my 7.5" w/ effective 25mm offset I would want a 8.5" w/ 44mm offset, but it would be 38mm closer to the strut on the inside. That seems like a lot, how wide of wheels are people able to cram in there before there's a risk of touching suspension bits?

thanks

Chris, an 8.5" +38 will be the same fit as a 7.5 +25, so if you can find that offset in the 8.5" wheels you can ditch the spacers and have the same fit I'd also run 245/45/18s on that width rim.

Hi Everyone.

I did a lot of digging up and would really appreciate some guidance. This is what I came up with.

I have a 2008 G35X Sedan with these all around: 225/55R17 x 7.5 +45mm offset. I want to go with a square setup since it is an AWD. I want to go with the Vossen CV3's but I don't see people really running these square setup. I really like the concaved look but the ones I've seen are mostly staggered with a deep concave in the rear and an almost flat front.

I was thinking about going with a 275/30R20 x 10.5 with a 18mm offset. Does anyone know if this fits with any problems like rubbing when turning or is this too aggressive on the wheel bearings, Etc? I'd like a flush look with no, or barely any, rim overhanging away from the body. Just not sure if this offset will give me that flush look and no rubbing.

I have a SPC camber kit all around and waiting on my Fortune auto 500 coil overs to give it a drop. I want to try to make these rims work so I'm not too worried on height adjustment.

Thanks in advance for the help.

No way will a 10.5" +18 work on a sedan without serious fender pulling/heavy camber and totally slammed. Might shoot a PM to tbulsara, he's running 10.5 +35 square w/ 275s on his X Sedan

I don't want to modify the fenders in any way. I thought this offset would bring the rims out to where they're flush with the fender, but still away from the suspension components without having to use spacers.

I thought trying to figure out what I needed to lower the car was tough. Trying to figure out the size and offset that'll work best is a nightmare without actually visual looking at it and seeing what really does work.

Blnewt, I appreciate all your help. You are very .

FWIW, for a flush rear a 10" to 10.5" +45 will get you flush, on the 10" you can go up to 295 width tires and a 10.5" a 275 to 285 will get a similar fit at the fender. The fronts are a bit trickier since the front fender edge isn't flat-rolled like the rear. I keep my front tires inside about 10mm from the rear for the clearance issue. If you roll the front fender edge you can run a wider rim, or less positive offset. A +18 offset will push what's already pretty flush another 27mm further out, so about an inch outside the fender lip. tbulsara has made it work w/ +35s but I'm fairly certain he's done some fender mods. Still, might send him a PM and see exactly what he's done.

I was way off my calculation. By the way, is there any issues with turning with this type of offset? Has anyone ever gone with a +30 offset without any major problems. I'll consider fender rolling. Right now I just want to figure this out.

new wheel/tire package

So I decided to get back into the game and do something with my g37.
megan racing coils LP street series with camber plates on its way
OEM front chin lip on its way
Billet front license plate re-locator on its way...
my question is which tire package makes more sense for my car without any issues..

1. 235/35 R20X9.5 with 30 offset fronts
275/3o R20X10.5 with 35 offset rears (little stretch) tire diameter on this set up is 0.07

2. 245/35 R20X9.5 w/ 30 offset fronts
285/30 R20X19.5 w/35 offset rears.

I don't want any rubbing nor i want to cut anything or roll fenders..
any input will be appreciated.

I will be honest and admit I don't know what any of these measurements mean. I am trying to get an idea of how much $$$$$ cash I will end up dropping. Im a big fan of the avant garde 510 wheels for my 2011 g37xs sedan. I am on tenabe springs, oem front lip, and autox rear diffuser. I think I want staggered but I need to know what type of offset I am looking at and tire size.

Ok sorry another question. From the calculation is seems the front would be a problem maybe but not rear.

2013 g37 rwd sedan 17" base wheels

Looking at

Front 225/40/19 8.5" 30 offset
Rear 245/40/19 9.5" 35 offset

I might have answered my own question. The fronts will be too short and unless lower the car will leave a bigger wheel gap.

Go w/ 225/45/19 front 245/40/19 rear, or you can get a bit more positive offset and run 245/40/19 front 285/35/19s by going w/ a +35 front +40 rear offset, but only if you plan on lowering, at stock height I'd go another 5mm out so a +40 front +45 rear w/ the 245/285 setup.

Hi

I recently saw a Sport sedan on Velgen VMB5 wheels and I'm going for it.
Still deciding between 19 or 20 inch. My question is do I need a camber kit if I go 19 with stock suspension, do I need camber kit If I go 19 with eichbach springs?
Same question for 20?
Thanks
