The OFFICIAL "I have a wheel offset / tire fitment question!" thread
#2266
Hey guys, I recently picked up a set of Rays that are 19x9.5 +25 square. I have a 2008 G37S coupe and after doing some research I think I may be able to run 255/35 and 285/30. Just had a few questions before purchasing tires.
1. Will having have a staggered set up on square rims cause any issues?
2. What would the widest tire size I can use while staying in OEM spec? I have a pair of 20mm and 25mm spacers, however I’d rather not use them.
3. Currently my car is not lowered, but I plan on dropping it on BC Racing coilovers soon. Would the previous tire size still fit or would it give me rubbing issues?
Thank you.

My brother has a set of Jongbloed 308 Aero wheels that are 18x10.5 but not sure on offset. From what I can measure, my guess is it in the range of 55-60 mm offset. Anyone know if these will contact anything if I tires to run a square setup on this? I have a sedan.
I believe I’ve read somewhere that anything above ET 50 on a 10.5 in the front will contact the arm but I can’t find where I read that to verify. I feel that the rear should fit.
Thanks
Latez

If he's not local I'd be prepared to run spacers, at least that's preferable to having too aggressive offset w/ nothing you can do short of fender pulling, tires stretched til they scream, or crazy camber.

Not sure what you mean by OEM spec, do you mean OEM diameter?? If so I would consider running taller tires like a 255/40 275/35, the tires you listed are quite a bit shorter than OEM diameter and will result in a firmer ride.
As far as rubbing, should be ok in that regard if you run 245 thru 275 widths, the 285s should still tuck ok inside the fender edge but may rub on the liner and the bracket under heavy compression.

Blnewt, need your expertise please.
12 sedan sport with bbk and on air suspension currently on coupe wheels with 245/40/19 front with 15mm spacer and 275/35/19 rear.
I'm looking to pick up these cheap varrstoen l153 wheels for now to get off the coupe wheels until I can get my real wheels. Want to go to 20s (cheaper tires). Which offset would be best? Staggered or square set up doesn't matter to me although ideally I'd like a full concave look with the 20x10.5. However, I'd rather not have to pull or roll fenders or add spacers but if necessary, it's no issue.
Tires, I'm thinking 255 or 275?

You could run the 10.5 +40, check the first page here for a couple sedans (MylilG and Tbulsara) running 10.5 +35 on 275s, but you might need a small spacer in front as there might be clearance problems at the upper bend of the steering knuckle w/ the +40 offset. You could run 255/35s (vs 275/30) to give you a little more relief at the fender if your camber at running height is kept in-spec.

How much spacing do you need to clear BBK? If it's less than 15mm that would be a better fit than the 10.5 +25s and you wouldn't have the hassle of returning the wheels (especially if the vendor won't take them back, which it sounds like they won't). Do you know how much spacing you need to clear???

G37S Sedan
BBK
Planning to go with (I know what i have to do for this fit because i know someone that had this exact set up before he sold his wheel set)
Mercury Silver TE37 ULTRA
19 x 9.5 +22 255/40/19
19 x 10.5 +32 275/35/19
a nice drop with beefy tires
but...
Wanting to know would the rear fit with this offset?
TE37 SL (Thats the only offset in SL's)
19 x 9.5 +22
19 x 10.5 +22

I would stick w/ the top set for sure, too much work to make the SL's work IMO, and the extra poke won't look very good. Even the top set is real aggressive as you already have seen I'm sure

I'm buying some tires/wheels from America's Tires and selected my car specs which are:
2013 Infiniti G37S, Coupe, Journey
225/45-R19 Original front tire size (as it matches on the door jam)
245/40-R19 Original rear tire size (as it matches on the door jam)
I was interested in this brand which is 19x8.5 but I couldn't find 19x9 for the rear and looking on the sticky thread, it says OEM is 19x8.5 and 19x9.
If I buy 4 19x8.5 wheels, will this affect my car a lot? I've already purchased the tires

You need to BE SURE that those wheels will clear your big Sport brakes, many wheels won't, or be prepared to run a spacer in front to clear them.

Thanks for the warning and tip! I just called them and they said they should be able to order the 19x9 for the rear. Hopefully all goes well

Hey everyone! Total newb here to purchasing new wheels. I actually have a similar coupe listed a few posts above me: 2013 G37 coupe journey w/sport package (has big brake kit) running the staggered tires - 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Poles.
I've been debating whether to have my 19" sport wheels powder coated to a gunmetal color or just purchase new wheels. The Niche Verona M149 really caught my eye. I was leaning towards five spokes, but I think these would look great on my black g.
Here's a set I'm looking at right now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Niche-Veron...MAAOSwdA5bNrxf
It has the fitment specs of: 19x8.5 5x114.3 (5x4.5) +35mm I'm reading more about sizing, has anyone purchased these and had issues for clearance or whatnot?
I definitely appreciate all input!
