Kudos to TireRack!!

Man, I'm impressed. I ordered a set of Hankook tires for my Vossen Rims (still waiting...) on Tuesday, and I got them today, Thursday all the way to Montreal Canada! No hasstles with tax collection, duty or anything! On top of that I save $1000 over local prices.
Can I get commision for all the customers I will send their way??

Wait, who delivered? If it was one of the major players, ie. UPS, FedEx, etc., you're likely going to get a bill in about a week or two. I made a similar mistake once...never again. I always ship to a US address and go pick it up.

Trust me, I'm willing to bet you're gonna get a bill for both brokerage fees and duties paid for on your behalf. Sorry to say.

I've never heard of UPS or FedEx billing you later after you received a package...

I also never had, until it happened to me. Needless to say, I was quite shocked and angry. It was legit though. I called FedEx and complained, but didn't win the argument.

I think typically if there are any charges, they charge you before giving you the actual package. In this case, I received the package, and then was sent a bill after the fact. I'm not certain if it was because I used my office account to ship my parcel to. I don't even remember what it was, but I ordered something online and had it shipped from the US to my office in Canada. Got dinged...

It's over if they shipped anything other than USPS. You will get duty + taxes 18percent if u go with USPS or carry it over the border yourself.. If you go with ups they charge a crazy brokerage fee onto of that which sometimes cost more than the item you are buying. My bro in law learn that the hard way with his electronics...

I've ordered 2 sets of tires from them and I get them really quick. About a week to ship all the way here to Guam by USPS.

Here in Montreal I was quoted $2000+ for this. I don't know why the hankoos are so expensive here. The garage told me there cost is $350 for the 285's. They even asked me to show them on the web...they were amazed and felt they were being gouged by the distributers/Hankook

TireRack takes care of everything, collecting and forwarding the taxes duty etc. They even say on their web site that there will be no additional charges or taxes from the shipping company. Shipping was via UPS standard (which is faster it seems than UPS Priority!)

More and more companies are doing this. B&H Photo, Mouser Electronics etc all take care of everything.

Ahh nice, I was quoted $1050 here in BC with everything in + mount n balance at a local shop.

In the states it would be $850 M+B shipped all in, or if order for tire rack and bring them over yourself to pass taxes/duty 700ish

Oh I see. Nice. All your first post noted was it was over $1000 less than local. I know that those tires from tirerack are ~ $700-800 before shipping. Nicely done. I typically just ship and pick up but maybe I'll get tirerack to do all next time.

Thanks for the order! Remember, you have a rep here whose name can be entered online when ordering or called direct for an order.
