Hankook Tires Question

I am about to purchase an '08 G37 with 24,900 miles. The owner just replaced the front two stock Bridegtone tires with Hankook V12 225/45/19's. The rear tires are still the stock Bridestones and will need to be replaced very soon (not sure why she didn't just replace all of them). My question is, can I go ahead and replace the rear tires with the wider Hankook 275/35/19's and leave the 225/45/19's on the front? Will the narrow front tires mess up the ride/handling? Or should I just bite the bullet and replace the front with the 245/40/19's to go with the 275/35's on the back? I don't want to mess up the look of the car either. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get trade on the front's she just replaced so I'm in a little dilemma. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That would make the rear tire a bit shorter than the front. Might give your car a slight uphill look. I would buy two in the correct size so the diameters are right.

Good advise, and you're obviously qualified to give it. I think I'll try and get trade for the front 225/45's Hankook's. Should I go with the Hankook EVO 245/40 front and 275/35 rears? Seems like a lot of G37 owners are going with the Hankooks in this size. Can you give me pricing for these if that is what you would recommend? Thanks!

Yup, I would run the 245/40-19 and 275/35-19 combo. Pretty common upgrade these days. The V12 would be a good choice, a set before shipping runs $760.

89123 is my zip code. Just confirming that I will not need any add'l hardware such as spacers etc. due to the lower profile tires? Will their be a larger gap in the wheel well? I may add Eibach springs eventually, but for now it is stock. Also can you please give me prices for a pair of just rear the stock sized 245/40R-19 (Hankook) in case I can't get trade on the existing front. Thanks!

Full set shipped in one day would be $890.26. You could also pick them up at our warehouse outside Reno for $821.76. Rears shipped $412.70, picked up $378.60. No mods needed and won't create any additional fender gap.

Ok, I pickup the vehicle this weekend and I will get back to you. Is there a better way to contact you besides this forum?

Good point. I didn't see the number in his signature reading it on my iPhone.

Why use 275-35-19 in the rear as opposed to 275-40-19 ??

The 35's have a bit better overall diameter, not as tall.
