Help! Evo GSR rims on my G37
Help! Evo GSR rims on my G37
ok, here's the situation:
I managed to get my hands on a set of 3 (almost brand new) Evo X GSR rims + tires. I'm in the process of looking for one in the LA or Phoenix areas, and I'm having a hard time finding one (+ they're much more $$ than I thought they would be!!)
Anyways, here's my question to you guys: I'm planning on using these only for track purposes, and I'm wondering how well do they fit on my '09 G37S coupe? Is it worth spending $$ for the missing wheel? Or should I get rid of 'em and get something else??
Note: I'm mostly worried about the fronts offset and width, but I'm kind of a noob in the wheels department
Here are the specs for the Evo wheels:
Stock Wheels: Enkei (GSR)
Wheel Size: 18x8.5 +38 offset, Center Bore 67.1
Tire Size: 245/40R18 Yokohama Advan A13C (MY2008)
Comments: Cast, wheels are 22 lbs; wheel + tire 46.5 lbs.
and to give u an idea, here's a pic (will replace the mitsu badges though

If you're only using those for the track then I'm sure you looks isn't really your concern. They will not flush with your fenders but they should do so better than stock at least.
EVO's however are AWD's meaning all wheels have the same width from the factory, our G37s are RWD meaning you'd want wider wheels in the rear, otherwise you'll face a lot of oversteer coming out of corners (Mike can tell you more about that if he's lurking around)
In terms brake clearance, I'm guessing you should be fine since they clear the EVO brakes
One last thing, throw some semi-slick tires on them

I think you should be running a wider rim to be honest. Sam is right, there's going to be a lot of oversteer especially with a 8.5 in the back. If you're looking to autocross then I would stick with a standard lightweight 9 - 9.5" in the front and 10 - 10.5" in the back. You'll lose a lot of time in the corners just trying to keep the car under control.
If you're looking to drift, that's a different story.

hmmm... Since I'm still having a hard time finding a 4th wheel, I'm leaning towards selling the 3 I have and get some wider wheels. What about weight differences though? Anyone recommend some good (proven) track wheels for our G?
