[TSB] G37 Oil consumption ITB10-048
I wish I had seen this earlier. I was always on the g35 forum but when I got my 09 G37s Coupe I was not doing any work on it so I stayed away from reading this forum and blew my engine. I have my records but they are not from Infiniti. Local shop. I ended up with 2 Q of oil left loud engine noise and metal shavings in the oil. The dealer never mentioned this TSB http://www.infinitig37.com/TSB/1SY30.pdf and is acting like they are not going to pay has anyone had any issues with Infiniti not honoring this my car still is under full warranty.

Glad I found this the other day. I bought an 09 sedan, had 32K miles. Four weeks later, the engine seized. Had it towed to the local Infiniti dealer who told me there was no oil in the engine. I checked it two weeks prior and the oil level was fine.
I have been dealing with the local dealer. I met with him yesterday and he said this TSB had no bearing on my situation. That it involved vehicles where oil was consumed. Then he went on to say that the only issues he had experienced with this TSB were coupe's with standard transmissions. So back and forth we went, he finally said that it was Infiniti who rejected the warranty.
I called Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they had zero record of any warranty claim ever filed for my vehicle. I am awaiting a call from the Regional Warranty Rep now.
Am I out of line in thinking this TSB DOES have a bearing (no pun intended) on my vehicle? There was no "Low Oil Pressure" light, no warning at all.
TIA

Well after almost three weeks of back and forth, Infiniti is going to replace my engine.
I was, however, severely underwhelmed with the communication skills of the Infiniti USA staff. The liaison I spoke with was argumentative, condescending and consistently spoke over me, not allowing me to complete sentences. She told me that in no way would I be able to speak with the regional warranty manager.

they have been very rude as well as even lied several times to me. Very disappointing from a company like this...
bought my 09 sedan X used from Baltimore with 23000... took it on about an 1800 mile trip south 3 weeks later. didnt burn a drop. i changed it out of guilt as it was only slightly dirty at about 29000. i hvae a slight oil smell after i take it up to 80 or 90 for a mile or so and then slow down to 45. a member told me to check the oil filter to see if pcv valve is doing its job.
I did pick up my car with the long block replacement this past Thursday. As soon as I took off, I had to stop and put air in the tires, I guess since the warranty work didn't cover tires the dealership didn't think having air in the tires was important. The low tire air pressure light was on.
Then I got home. The right rear quarter panel and rear bumper have been smashed into by a white vehicle. I called the dealership and of course they said that the car arrived with the damage. Since I wasn't there when the car was delivered to the dealership, I am behind the 8-ball on this one. I have posted on the Infiniti FB page and they are having a rep call me Monday.

An update, #Cochran Infiniti threatened me with "slander" because I posted negative reviews on different web sites. First, since my reviews are written, it is LIBEL that you are threatening me with, which is the written word, not slander. Next, since what I have posted is 100% accurate, there is no libel.
#Cochran has offered a whopping $250 towards the $3,200 of body damage that was done to my car.
What I want to know from #Cochran is if it's standard policy to tell customers that warranty work was rejected by the manufacturer when you haven't even communicated with the manufacturer? I wonder if I am the first person that this has happened to or has this happened to others?

This sucks your going through all this with Infiniti. Have you tried speaking with consumer affairs or the BBB?
Have you spoken with the tow company? Usually tow companies take a report of any damage that is on the car to ward them from and insurance claims. That would be able to prove to Infiniti the damaged happen there. But being that you didnt notice till you got home they will probably still try to fight it. I always do a walk around before I leave but that is because the Infiniti in my town is shady as hell.

BBB said it was a he said / he said so they were not going to take sides. Consumer Affairs said the damage was an issue between the dealership and me.
I spoke with the tow truck driver, he would have deposed that there wasn't any damage, if it had been litigated.
After reaching out to the CEO of the dealership, we have designed reconcilable conclusion to the issue and I now consider this matter closed and complete. Their body shop did a top notch job on the damage done to my Infiniti.
Bought a used 08 g37 back in october, 70k miles. December the car wouldnt start. Nissan dealership told me I had low to no oil in the car after getting it changed within the past week or two. They suggested I need a new engine and wasnt covered under my "supreme" warranty that I had gotten from the dealership. Went back to the dealership, not an infinity dealership, just one that sells a bunch of different cars, and they brought the car to their mechanic who had it for over 3 months. After getting the car back, replaced cam sensors, was skipping timing, who knows what else was wrong, he suggest I use synthetic oil and check often... Girlfriend took it on a small road trip across state and she called me crying because the car was acting up, her family who is pretty competent said there was low oil in the car even though she had just had it checked. We checked it before leaving and she also checked it the morning after her arrival. Is it worth going to an infinity dealer to pursue an oil consumption type problem or is my problem now still with the dealership who sold me the car. The dealership has been a pain in the *** to work with.
Hey guys, I may have this problem, but I am out of my 48 months/100,000 Kilometers warranty
Is warranty needed for this? I feel a TSB should mean free work regardless of whether you are in or out of warranty?
