I like having the mid rear speakers intact. I am not all about sound separation. I like to feel like I am in the music.. I will be keeping mine as they are in terms of operation.

Yeah I'll admit like I said. I dont really know GOOD sound - everything sounds pretty good to me you know? But I wouldnt recommend the Kappas if you know good sound. Only because I had alreayd spent enough and didnt feel like swapping out my stock amp, blah blah. The bose amp is good enough to power my Kappas. Now the Kappa Perfects - you'll need to go aftermarket with the amp but that'll sound better as well. This in the meantime keeps me happy though I'll admit. I can show you how it sounds tomorrow if you want. I like them! Now the rattling.... thats a different story.

I finally got my speakers up and working and man, what a difference compared to the stock Bose setup. Here's what I installed, eDi 6500s components, Infinity Reference 6002si for rear fill and a JL 300/4 amp. For now I decided to not hookup the 6x9's in the rear. The eDi component gets pretty loud without any distortion but the rear fills I have to tone down a bit since they are shallow speakers. For the money and entry level sound system, I opted for this these components. Depending on how things go, I may be able to stop by to the DIY meet tomorrow for a bit.

I have a coupe and the speakers are:

Fronts: 6.5" depth w/ 3/4" spacer is ~3.25" max I would assume.
Mid: 6.5" depth w/ 3/4" spacer is ~2", maybe 1/4" more if you're lucky.
Rear Deck: 6"x9"

I'm not sure about tweeter size but I was able to fit 1" tweeters in the stock location with some modifications and a custom bracket although it looks completely stock once reinstalled. Both the front and mid speakers are exactly the same.
