Yeah, make a world of difference. How do you like the GTM transmission?
Its good it shifts pretty fast. Just worried about whats not built when I turn up the boost. I know FI made a billet flex plate for their TT 7AT that put down 670whp with only upgraded clutches, converter and VB is stock. Tuned with Ecutek.

I have a built trans on my TT G35X I'm just worried about the transfer case not handling the power.

I did the mod to make it RWD 100% with a switch.
What!? That's so sick! Any info/links you could share on that mod?

It's too late I have the G37S but that makes the x sound so much more tempting if you can switch over.

Also, what RPM's are you guys launching at and do you use traction control?

I just wanted to say that I did 13,8 last summer with my stock 09 G37xS Sedan with 212 000km (around 132 000 miles), in only one try ! So I guess it aged well

I get better times launching barely off idle 1000-1200 rpms. I have a auto. Car does not like to be brake torqued long.

Off the line they are quick, and it nearly feels the same. Thats personal preference. Let's get down to the facts.

At the end of the day guys, its simple math. More weight, same power, plus AWD drive additional loss to the wheels. Unless the X defies the rules of physics, at first glance, it seems obvious that it could not be faster than a G37s. Research confirms:

Read here:

2009 Infiniti G37x S Sedan - First Test - Motor Trend

I can cite you about 5 other professional articles if you would like - all agree that the X is anywhere from .5 to a full second slower than a RWD 6MT.

The 6MT G37S is the fastest example of a stock Infiniti G. For those of you who go on about getting good launches and bogging -learn to drive stick. I have about 20k miles on my G and long ago I figured out exactly how to launch this car. You learn the car and develop the skill. I run consistent 13.8s or better. You know your car and how to shift, and once you do - its a huge advantage, not the other way around. When I am rolling, I know exactly what gear I want to hit and how to rev match and hit it nice. It is a beautiful thing to be able to put your G exactly at the RPMS you want without AT intervention. The human driver is more intelligent than any AT, and the 6MT gearbox allows you to leverage you thoughts on gear selection as you please.

The AT sport mode is very very laggy, nearly useless. So as you smash the gas waiting for the AT to pick a gear - often not the best gear - I have already selected my gear and peak RPM. Peace.

If you are not a decent stick driver, then dont get stick.
From 1-2nd when do you shift? (Rpms) 6.500 or if anyone else knows when to shift for peak speed (power ??).

Thanks

I wrote a thread about shiftpoints a number of months ago but never got any traction..... after some research on how to equate the points I ended up using my dyno and some equations to find my optimal points. Hope this helps.

I'm in an auto 5speed and ran a best of 13.9 @ 100 with a terrible 2.4 60ft. I bet with radials and a lucky 1.9-2.0 it would be a 13.7 or so...

Wow that's a great time! Why are the sedans are so much faster? I didn't think the weight difference was that much different?

Yea, I read this whole thread and it appears the sedans are on average at around 13.5 and the coupes 13.9...so that sucks for us coupes.
We look faster but they are faster...
