Just got back from the Valley. Got a new personal best. Was going to claim the stock AWD record as I've seen nothing close until I logged on today someone is claiming a 13.36@104 that's a nice trap speed. Anyway my time is below pretty happy wasn't even expecting to still have the G. This car always surprises people at the track.Backed it up with a 13.494@102.62 on a hot lap right after within 15 minutes of each other

Where did you go VMP in Petersburg? Nice time!! What was your 60ft? Here are my best slips from my coupe at Cecil in MD. Installing cams and headers at the moment gunning for high 11's in the fall. The record is 12.2 6mt and 12.3 auto.

I went to richmond dragway right outside of richmond. 2.09 was my best 60 ft. I'm running on stock 17" wheels with street tires.

Okay, I'm going to be THAT guy.

"Fast" describes speed/velocity. "Quick" describes acceleration. I suspect that coupes are indeed faster on top end but sedans are quicker through the quarter mile. It would take a bit of road for a coupe's aero advantage to overcome the sedan's lighter weight and quicker acceleration.

From what I can find online, the sedan has a .29 Cd, the coupe has a .30/.31 Cd depending on the source, meaning the sedan is actually more aerodynamic as well. So the sedan would just keep pulling away from the coupe the longer the track was.

Hmmm. I would have thought the gentler back slope of the coupe to be nicer to air than the sedan. The sedan has a slightly better fineness ratio, though.

Wikipedia has this table. The G37 coupe is listed at 0.31 while the G35 sedan is listed at 0.29.

Infiniti's 2010 line sheet says 0.30 for all models.

Edmund's claims the 2013 coupe at 0.31. They don't list a value for the sedan.

All these are much better than the 1967 Mustang coupe at 0.49!

Went to Island Dragway last Friday night for fun. I have worn tires and couldn't get off the line with much authority but I did manage a best time of 13.707 @ 101.58mph. Runs were consistent around there with the slowest being 14.0 @ 100.XX (my fiancés run). She didn't turn traction off or shift manually like I did but nonetheless, not bad for an 09 with 111k miles! I will return with new tires, empty trunk, 1/4 tank of gas and hopefully get a better time and trap speed. Should I drive over the water next time? Will that help at all? I went around it on my runs

If you're on any type of treaded street tire drive around it.

Yeah drive around it. I back up almost to it just so I can spin the tires, just enough to scrub them off. I had my best run yesterday, 13.41@104 with a 2.02 60ft

I use a G tech accelerometer and run a 13.9 in my porky ragtop AT. I put in an R2C2 intake and Stillen Underdrive pulley...Would high flow cats work in tandem with the intake?

Yeah they will. Did you notice a difference with the light weight crank pulley?

Yes both I and my BF noticed it felt quicker off the line. I backed it up by doing several 30-80 runs and under the exact same weather conditions and 1/4 tank of gas noticed a 2/10ths drop....I got the pulley on Ebay for $180 and my mechanic hit me up for an hour ($95) labor.. Very good bang for the buck...The R2C2 intake not so much............

I'm leaning towards the Berk Cats after I do the 3.69 gear swap next weekend..
