The Murano has 75k on it. Yes less miles, but Janik and I both know the cars inside and out and the G happens to be a very clean 1 owner dealer maintained car

And the Murano was a year older, in the year that was known for CVT transmission issues.... and not to mention the fact that the Murano was 5k more expensive..

OH and I forgot to mention that the Murano sold yesterday..... so its either this car or a GMC Envoy Denali with 100k thats 16 grand. Yea, the G is the better car. Brad checked it out tonight and sent us pics. It is literally brand new looking, with brand new tires and Scott is throwing in new front brakes. Drives like new as well. Was owned by a very particular lesbian that bought it new... haha

Does this dealership offer any type of referral? Its the least they can do for you! I know when I brought my other brother down to that dealership and he bought the car from Luther Infiniti, at first they were hesitant about giving me anything at all...kept giving me the run around how they couldnt afford to offer me anything since it cut too much into their profit margin. I dont know what my brother said to them after i left but they finally agreed to send a check out for $75. I suppose its better than nothing.

Honestly I don't know what I am goin to do. No warranty...still owe about $8000 on it... I guess I'll be selling the Works. I'll see if my uncle's shop has an engine hoist and I can do the swap myself.
Damn that sucks.... No wonder the car didn't start. I'd say file an insurance claim, that's why you pay for full coverage. Pay your deductible and use the difference to fix the car. I mean even if your insurance only agrees to pay you $6k for a motor + labor that the stealership would charge, you'd still make out with a buttload of cash. You'd have more than enough to buy a fairly new VQ motor or go with an LS motor, and still have money left over when it's all said and done. You weren't at a track so there would be no reason for them to deny the claim.

I don't think you can file an insurance claim against mechanical failure can you? Well I know mine will only cover against collision, personal injury (from collision), theft or vandalism. Now if you want us to help you roll your car into a tree, that's a different story.

I knew it wasn't going to be good news about the car when Ken asked if I was sitting down before he told me about it.
Main focus right now is finding a way to get the car up to Duluth.
My fiancé's dad wants to get it in a shop up here right away.
I know enough people up here that could help so my labor cost would be beer. I am totally willing to do the swap myself with some help. I have a friend with an engine hoist.

Time to contact the guy in the cities about the engine and do other searching.

Time for a drink.....

I might be selling the Works too. I have family willing to help pay, but I really don't want to accept their money.

Between the wedding planning and a **** job, there isn't much money left...

i've always said no rush to have a wedding if you cant afford. do it right one time. if you're in a rush to get married for any reason, do a small ceremony or a court marriage. and the time will come when you can get a good one.
but i mean you know your situation better. man you're lucky you have people willing to help you out. it's a good place to be in.

andrew and janik, arent there MUCH better, LOWER MILES, solutions for 16k for a girl? come on now.

The wedding is in almost exactly one year. We just have almost everything planned out and paid for now, because Raeya is doing her final year of nursing school then she has to worry about passing her state boards to get licensed.

This car is 11k, not 16k. And what else is there? A Cobalt? Civic? She doesn't want a car like that lol. There isn't anything wrong with a 100k mile G if its been taken care. Lots of people have 100k Gs lol. She currently drives a 99 G20. Shes familiar with Infinitis and likes our cars.

Yes, she did want an SUV. However, both Janik and I talked to her and we came to the conclusion that she didn't need an SUV because she doesn't haul around kids anymore and got her to look into cars. Also, the SUV's that were in question were pretty base models, which she doesn't want. She likes a more luxury feel.

Do I think that she would be fine with say a 6k dollar commuter car or something? Yes, that is originally what I said. However, she wanted to get a nicer, more "luxury" car, with not outrageously high miles, that is pretty reliable.

We might be slightly biased, but I honestly don't know of any other car I would buy in this category other than a G that offers similar things. Especially a clean, 1 owner, dealer maintained car. That in itself is very, very hard to find.

Just curious cars do you think would be more appropriate?

Be sure to let us know how the mods feel! That's one thing I kind of wish I had was a stock turbo, but then again not because I would just be that much more willing to throw "go fast" mods in it and start breaking stuff :/

damn Bruce that sucks. I wish I was in a house already I'd say bring some beer and we would swap a new motor in over a weekend. Don't have the room in my garage at my apt.
