Good call about the drive to chicago. Thing is, I got to thinking about our road trip to NC and FL. I'm thinking about going to wait to pay that much to have my car wetsanded and detailed until AFTER that road trip.
Left the body shop at midnight tonight. Got there after work at 3 and I took your advice, Lance and Tevi and fitted up the front bumper....... 5 hours later
It fits like a glove. All kinds of cutting and trimming and grinding. Dayum.. ish is no joke. wetdanded all the parts and will be getting painted tomorrow. Gonna go by sat and wet sand and buff and head over to fifth gear. Now I see why body shops charge so much to install these things. Fanagled the side skirts and they are fitting pretty good now.
Fiberglass is seriously harassing me right now. Took a long sleeve shirt but never put it on an now im paying the price.
Plan is to work on Dans ride then throw on my exhaust @ First Gear on Sat. Who else is going?

Front bumper I feel has probably been resprayed as well, but it is the back bumper thats been removed, resprayed etc. Trunk has been removed (checked bolts) and the rear quarter panels were attempted to be blended in with the trunk and bumper. Didn't turn out so clean however..
Hey Tevi, I'm sure you saw this already but....6 days until the unveiling of the JX!

I stuck with the basic Gold Class Carnauba Wax, Since I have the time and ability to wash it weekly and wax it monthly I don't really care. But I will pick up some Poor Boy's sealant soon too so I can keep it nicer longer. Keeping it in great shape definitely starts ASAP! :-DI'm going to get my Sway Bars installed Monday night, otherwise it will be in the Garage until we leave for Chicago! I will do a quick detail on it Friday afternoon and then tape up the front of her before Lance gets here and we can roll down to Chicago
Do another detail and bring some supplies from work with me for the weekend to do some touch ups here n there.

I might actually layer up the wax between now and Tuesday too. See if I can get it to look any wetter

For the record I helped my 2nd friend this week detail their vehicle. Just a basic wash n wax since they were short on time, helps to make some extra money above and beyond bby
Yeah Lance, the rear is worse than I thought once the detail was done. Paint on the bumper is poor quality and a bad job. Bottom of bumper wasn't even sanded or had clear put on. The trunk is out of alignment slightly and there is a small crack in the paint there where some rust is starting. I'm going back today to see if they can at least fix it. Carfax was clean when I bought it, but now it shows up as damage found at auction.
If anyone is interested in stopping by and helping out at FirstGearGarage in chanhassen on Saturday, myself, Lance and Trev are installing springs, camber and exhaust at 2 pm. I will be up there around noon to get a lift. Pizza on me for all who help out!!
Damn...y'all know I'm always down to help y'all out but tomorrow is my Mom's bday and I'll be busy all day doing stuff.
