+1 what staples said. Pretty much with running any type of exhaust/tp combo will lose some "go" low end torque which I was discussing with BB. I expected this result that's why I'm getting the intake manifold then uprev tune.
I was also running the art pipes with the Gemini .. I put on the Shockwave and I can tell I need to make some adjustments to my tune . The Gemini is 2.5 all the way through . The shockwave has some parts where it becomes a 3 inch exhaust . That probably has something to do with it ..

I don't need it any louder and I can skip the rasp and low end loss.

I haven't driven my car much in the week that it's been installed but when I do I truly love it.
If hours is yelling at u with cats and can tell u that it screams with no cats ... I do like the new sound ..

Probably.. according to my butt dyno, there is low end torque loss but highway pulls are harder and quicker.

Hmm... if there's a little rasp with the ART pipes combo, I wonder how bad it would be with resonated test pipes? I'm sure non-resonated would be ridiculous.

I have used exhaust wrap in the past with great success. Keeps the heat trapped in the piping and lessens resonance.

Mine is knocking on the transmission cross member I think. Curious that Betty has OEM cats like me and isn't getting any rattle (curious for that matter that only you and I are getting the sound).

Let's get together next week sometime. I wanna hear yours with the ART pipes. I am definitely feeling a boost in the low end torque....

If it is the cross member than we have the same issue .. I put header wrap on it so it wouldnt be metal on metal .. The noise should be coming from the passenger side .. The art pipes are loud .. I need to let the exhaust break in ..

So it sounds like everyone is enjoying this new exhaust. I am not sure if I will add the art pipes which I should have this week. I love how it sounds right now, it is plenty loud and exotic IMO. I dont think it sounds like any other exhaust for our cars.

^^^ What he said. I was planning to do ART pipes in a month or so. Not now. I"m not going to mess with it, sounds and feels great as it is. Maybe the MD370 intake plenum and a tune and that's it.

hey betty, are you going to be putting HFC or RHFC just for air flow purposes or are you leaving the stock cats on? i'm sure it sounds great and i would imagine it's gonna sound a little better when it gets broken in, but i'm just asking from a performance side of things...not sound quality. just due to our stock cats really hindering the air flow and being constricting.

Nope. Stock cats. HFC gains are only small and all the way at the top of the RPM range. With stock cats the car pulls better all the way through the RPM range, especially down low.

Subject to change on a whim.

Pcasey, you might find the art pipes really loud. Just a heads up.

ART pipes really don't add any volume, what you'll get is a slightly deeper tone, and once they carbon up, any hiss you might hear dies right down.

Obviously you get straight through with them I also noticed a slight increase in low down with the ARTs, they don't lose like TP's do. I'll not lift them up too high, the was the very slightest of loss under 2k, but otherwise good.

The biggest surprise i had with ART pipes, was the lack of extra volume.

PS, Portland people, do you go the the cars and coffee meet?
