I guess it depends on how much power you lose. If Injen produces the claimed 14 hp and the bypass valve only saps 5 hp, you still have quite a bit of net gain over a short ram which produces maybe 1 or 2 hp if that.

I hear that most bypass valves only lose about 2 or 3 hp though.

The other downside is that I think you have to cut into the tube to install it. Injen should build one ready built w/ bypass valve.

No not the AEM's bypass valve.. Im talkin about this simple cover that keep water that splashes onto the intake by chance by repelling it thereby further decreasing the chances of it sucking up water.

Hydro-Shields: Durable polyester uniform micron openings with an embedded hydrophobic water repellent process

http://injen.com/docs/products/listing.asp?pcc=ac

Check it out. The Injen is pretty sweeta and to be honest i dont mind just not driving in rain or driving carefully in it and avoiding puddles as long as I have the hydro-shield...

Question: If installing the Injen requires bumper removal - does that mean that changing/cleaning toe cone filters will also require bumper removal????? or is it just the installation?
