Exhaust Ideas....

Hey, guys let me know what you think about this. I am thinking about building my exhaust by pieces. What do you think about AAM test pipes, a custom mid pipe/Y-pipe and some HKS mufflers. Do you think it will be mean. Like do you really need a full cat back?

I'm not sure if you wanna mix it up that much. If anything, you can get the y-pipe and mid-pipe from the same company and just get different mufflers. The hard thing is getting them to all fit perfectly. I would just wait until you find the system that comes out that you really want.

Hmmm... I say try it out... I'm not gonna lie this has popped through my head too... You never know what could happen... I just wouldn't expect too much of a power increase considering how touchy our cars are... If all your looking for is the right sound for you then by all means GO FOR IT!!! Who knows, it might make pretty good power... I know Test Pipes are at least 10 hp by themselves so...

Just don't go past 2.5 on the piping though.

yeah I know 2.5 or 3 if turbo. because the mid pipes is just piping they all do the same thing. Test pipes increase 10 hp and with the right muffs and pipes and later on an injen CAI. I think it should be a nice set. What u think

Go for it, but take your time. You're probably gonna go through multiple set-ups to get the sound you want. Actually, the mid-pipe can help create a different type of sound depending if you use resonators, a muffler, or just piping.

get the aam tp's and aam hks ti set up...its what you are trying to do and its already made for you...its gunna be loud and you will have rasp...i would suggest high flow cats instead of tp's if you are just doing sound...if you want power, then by all emans do the tp's..

good luck n keep us posted on what set up u wanna run

I dont know if you can buy just and HKS muffler and they make a good Y that comes with it. I would just go HKS and AAM TP's if those are the brands you prefer. Or go with an exhaust that is just axel back then you can go with the custom Y.
