Anyone get the run around when taking their car in for warranty repairs?
I need to take my 2009 Infiniti G37S 7AT in for a warranty fix. My issue is outlined below but my real question is do people often get the run around from dealers on warranty issues? I have never taken mine in for a warranty fix so I wanted to know what experiences have been like and if I should approach a certain way and also is there a number I can call if they refuse to help me. When I call for an appointment should I specifically mention about the warranty or should I just take it in and mention that later? Thanks!
ISSUE:
Yesterday I was driving the car the car, stopped at a stop sign, and when I pressed the pedal the car basically switched into neutral and then possibly 7th gear (guessing) because the car just revved at first, then it was running extremely high rpms and I was only moving 15-20mph. I tried to shift into DS but the lever switched but DS did not engage. I only had a few blocks to my destination so when I got there I talked to my friend about and let the car rest. About an hour later I drove off and the car appeared to be fine. I did some searching around the forums and it appears to be similar to another issue that I saw someone had here:

I've never had an issue if it's a legitimate issue. They wouldn't replace my bottom seat cover, but I didn't "really" expect them to do so. They've even replaced items (battery) that I didn't even know were an issue.
Having said that, I've "heard" that dealers don't receive the same per hour rate from Infiniti for warranty work that they do from customers. Thus they'd much rather do full rate customer work than dealer mandated warranty/recall work. The flip side is they do want to impress you with all work they do so you're more likely to come back to them for all work.

Op you need to understand if the techs can't replicate then they can't diagnose the problem. Also refrain from charging in with info you found online that is similar to what you experience because it's almost like an insult like when you bring printout from webmd and tell your doctor you need them to prescribe a certain med

Gotcha. Basically just keep going back to them and tell them the car would randomly not shift. It might be the torque converter not locking or the tranny going out. You are very concerned as warranty is ending soon and so you would like to register the issue and document the problem in case the car completely fail shortly after the warranty ends
Went in to get my car serviced guy didnt even ask me about my appointment time lol. Gave them my car and they gave me a loaner. Called me at the end of the day and all was said and done. I went in for the TSB as well but they also changed my brakes too.
