Fixing Curb Rash/ Wheel Paint

Hey everyone! Hopefully someone finds this useful, even if it has been discussed before. Since there is no real way to get wheel touch up paint or the paint codes for the wheels, it is a bit of guess and check. I have found that the HONDA SILVER Duplicolor touch up paint is almost a perfect match for the OEM wheels.

I have had to fix some curb rash on both the 17" stock wheels and the 19" M wheels I have on my car now. While the repair isn't perfect, it is cheap and easy, and it looks much better than before IMO.

I have attached a before and after below. Basically all I did was clean the wheel, sand down thoroughly with 150 grit sandpaper, cleaning in between efforts, and touch it up with the Honda paint.

Hope this helps!

The wheels are around 7 years old and I'm refinishing them this winter/next spring anyways, but I figured this was a good patch up for now.

Thats a good temporary fix. I curbed my wheels plenty of times and luckily I met a wheel repairer on craigslist. He mostly sanded it down and paint match it. Cost me $50 a wheel.

I just curb rashed the HELL out of my wheels today!! I'm SO PISSED! I mis-calculated where the curb was and pretty much slammed right into it! I thought I had taken out the entire right side of the car so I was pretty relieved that it was just the wheels - but still sucks! Thanks for posting this though, I'll be looking into this but most likely get them refinished next spring.
