Optima v Interstate

I am approaching 4 years on the OEM battery. No problems so far, but I want to replace it before snow flies, and I rather be safe than sorry.

After reading various posts, I was leaning towards the Optima Red. After reading more posts, now I am leaning towards Interstate MTP, which has more CCA and is priced a little less.

Any final thoughts before I make the plunge? TIA.

Think the Optima will last 53% longer? If not then the one for $139 makes sense.

Doesn't costco sell relabled interstate batteries? Given their excellent customer service, that's where my next battery will be coming from most likely.

Edit: What's the trick to saving radio presets and other settings?

Change it quickly. If only disconnected for a couple of minutes you don't lose it.

Thanks BB for your voice of reason.

I found an Interstate Internet coupon for Firestone for $120, and they can get the battery at their store on Monday.

I went with an Interstate. That's the only aftermarket battery I've ever bought...I've never had one go bad. That was my third battery from them (not on the same car) and they offered to assist me in installing it in the parking lot right outside the Interstate store. Their service is second to none.

Well, when the car was first purchased it came with a one year subscription to Sirius so I did that for awhile, thats about as close as Ive ever come to the FM Radio though. Since then I've listened to the music from my iPod

^^LOL! I use radio as a generic term to cover the radio, cd, dvd, mp3 mediums. Honestly I don't eve know if the am/fm radio actually works. In the 3 years of owning the car these functions have never even been looked at. Same for the cd/dvd player. All my tunes are on a usb flash drive.

It's a tiny little thing that barely protrudes 3/8" from the usb port.

Costco has discontinued their rebranded Interstate batteries which they previously sold under the in-house Kirkland brand name. They now just carry the actual Interstate branded batteries. Essentially, nothing has changed except the name.
