Should I approve this dealer recommended maintenance?
G37, Coupe, AT, 58,000 miles, Georgia, City Driven, Engine looks soooo clean.
All required maintenance has been completed in the past.
Should I pay the dealer and have the following recommended maintenance completed?
1) Automatic transmission fluid contaminated/burnt ($365)
2) brake fluid dirty/contaminated ($143)
3) power steering fluid dirty/contaminated ($186)
4) Alignment (the car is not pulling) ($85)
5) Rear differential fluid dirty/contaminated ($195)
Thanks! Also -does anyone have an original front door speaker for sale used?

All of that is legitimate maintenance at your mileage. The dealership prices are way high, but it is what it is. If you are a reasonable capably DIYer or have a private garage you'll save tons of money. Or if you want "dealership peace of mind" let them do it. Those are all legit 60K mile services.

They are also no maintenance.

Update**
I spoke with the dealer and he said that is "standard wording". So when it says "we found your car fluid to be dirty/burnt". That *may* mean that they didnt even look at it and it is recommended based upon what they have seen in other cars with *similar* mileage.
In other words, be careful what you approve based upon their "observations" and use your own good judgement for items needed based upon your driving habits and knowledge.
I am now pretty sure that I just paid for an alignment for no reason. I do have new tires on the car but it wasn't pulling. The alignment wasnt a bad idea; but, now I have no idea if it was really needed or just recommended based upon my having 60k miles.

Thanks guys. This is only my second time at the dealer as I just purchased the car recently. They replaced alot for me under warranty last time there and I am still trying to stay a little close to the dealer in case I find something crazy with the new car. It is true that they are a little easier to fix/replace under warranty when they were doing the maintenance on it.

^^Did they show you the 1-2mm remaining on the rear brakes? I'd get a second opinion. If it's truly 1-2mm remaining, by all means get the pads changed and rotors cut.
Brake fluid: recommended every 2 years regardless of miles
Power steering fluid is easy enough to change yourself by evacuating what's in there, refill, bleed (turn the wheel lock to lock while running with the front wheels off the ground several times), repeat the above 2-3 times.
Fuel injection service: Probably not needed this early, there's a DYI posted. Wait til 30K miles
Diff service: Just like doing an oil change, takes 1.5 qts
The other broken parts sound like they're a result of some accident. Maybe car insurance will cover those.
If you can't do the maintenance yourself, take it to an independent shop. The services are easy to do so they shouldn't rape you as bad as the dealer.

i know this is an old topic but to the next reader thinking about this, its a coil flip. Good way to build a relationship with your local dealer being that all these maintenance things need to be done around this milage
