Awhile ago I heard that Nissan was going to refresh the styling on the Maxima. Even longer ago they claimed that they were going to make more Nismo models. With the new Altima offering AWD I thought they might make and AWD Nismo Maxima and that it would be pretty cool. No such luck. Just a different front and rear end (which do look nice) and they decided to expand the ugly orange interior from the GT-R into the Maxima (Yuck!)
740i to a G37 to a Jeep. You're tastes are eclectic, Newt. One of my best friends went from a Suburban, to a Mini, to a STi, to a Tesla. Honestly, I think you and my buddy got it right changing things up. I very much want my next car to be something other than a sedan.
Actually went from a 07 G35, which was great, then the 2002 740Li which was costing a fortune to keep on the road, then back to a G, so not too crazy (except ever thinking about buying a Beemer out of warranty )
I've been entertaining the idea of getting a different car sooner than later, mainly due to the ever elusive interior water leak I have. For my budget, I can't seem to find anything better than the CTS Vsport - by gawd is that thing a wad of value. It's not manual, but for a DD I'm not sure I really want one anymore.
That would be amazing. I can only imagine. And dream.
Honestly I'm still in the very early stages of looking into it.
And it all depends on what I can find.
Initially my thought is to try and keep everything within the Nissan family, so maybe some turbo 6 configuration.
Like what a "modern Datsun" might be like.
But as I research & learn that is certainly open to changing.
Those V8 builds are monstrous.
Of course, I still need the house with the 3rd garage stall, too - ha!

One of our other stores just got in a used ATS-V sedan 6spd!?! This is the 1st one I have seen in person in almost 3 years. It looks a lot better in person than in pictures. For some reason in pictures it always looks like it has very hard lines and jumbled up styling. This one has Recaro seats and the high polish wheels, but none of the other features I want and is not the right color. However, I bet Rochester might like the lighter interior. After this I went to our BMW store to compare styling.
When I turned the corner around the BMW store I was struck by a black M3 with the Competition package that looked great.
Behind the black M3 was a stunning blue M3 CS that put the ATS-V styling (exterior & interior) to shame. I believe this means I am leaning pretty heavily toward an M3.
They had an M2 Competition, which looks better in person, but still looks stumpy and unattractive next to an M3.
They even had a used Shelby GT350 with only 5,400 miles. Cool car, but I still think the blue M3 CS looked better (maybe due to the tacky white tire letters, stripes, and 2 big Shelby stickers on the front). But I think I could live with the GT350, especially since it was about 1/2 the cost of the M3 CS?!?
