How do u like the berks hfc's so far.. are they louder than the OEM's. Did you get cat back with it? One of my cats just went and I'm about to get some but I don't want the race car sounding ones...lol

119k miles sedan X. I bought it used and it looks like the wheel bearings were replaced. I’m not really sure about any other issues it had but I can’t see anything else visually.

I replaced the plugs, front/rear diff oil -and accessory belt. Thinking about replacing tranny fluid

It's never a bad idea to inspect/replace the transmission fluid. Most transmission issues we see at work are due to people never changing the fluid. Just saw a Murano with issues after 147,000 miles and zero transmission flushes!?! The fluid was like tar when it came out.

I wonder if the CVT in the murano ages fluid differently. Those CVTs are a nightmare.

The transmission is sealed on the G37 so you’ll need someone with a pump to get the fluid out. Make sure whoever’s doing it knows what they’re doing. Nissan calls it lifetime fluid but we all know how that really pans out. I wouldn’t say 119k is real high up there my wife had a VQ maxima years ago that she still sold for 3k with 200k on the clock. It’s high for a Chevy but it’s say that’s midlife right there. Should get a lot of life out of that car still.

The CVT's used to have a maintenance interval of 30k, then 60k, and now they just say to inspect the oil every 30k. The only time my shop sees issues with them is when people don't bring their cars here for regular maintenance. They go to some corner shop thinking they are saving money, but they have none of the tools, tech, or knowledge for modern cars- especially the electrical systems. The techs at the "non-stealership" don't carry CVT fluid so they try replacing it with cheap oil or just skip it entirely and then wonder why they have issues at 147k... I cannot remember the last time we had a car that is serviced here regularly that had an issue with it.

That makes sense, I can't stand CVT so I never owned one to have to learn about the maintenance but I know a few people with Murano's that all roasted their trans, actually my buddy has had his sitting in the drive way for a year now because he doesn't want to deal with it. That being said I know all those people went to independent shops, so that would definitely explain that. Thank you for the insight.

I'm not a fan of CVT's either, but mainly just because I do not like A/T. I would much rather drive a M/T, but they are becoming very difficult to find.

Amen, I needed a sedan bc I have two young kids and finding a M/T sedan was near impossible. I was excited to see the sedan auto at least had gears still lol

I have been searching for a Cadillac ATS-V sedan 6spd. with a few important features and I have yet to see one in the last 6+ months?!? If I wanted A/T I probably could have bought the car 10 times over. Stupid A/T cars.

I have an '09 with low miles, 79K - no major issues I can recall, but I've taken care of it. Did replace the trans fluid at 76K. There was some considerable warranty work done on 10/14/13, the dealer found and did all the work after I asked them to look over the car well and replace anything that needs it before warranty expires.

Right now the front right brake caliper is rattling, need to get that fixed.

2009 G37x 136k

Had my G for just over 8 months now. All the mods i planned on doing pretty much took care of any preexisting issues.

First was FI HFCs because of a CEL code for cat inefficiency. Turns out the previous owner pulled the stock cats, bored out the webbing of precious metals, welded any openings, and then put them back on 😑 Custom test pipes I guess.......

Other than that everything feels great and I just replaced the sparks, cleaned the Throttle Bodies, and actively keep up on fluids.

Brought my 2012 G37 (132k miles) in for rear brakes and was given a laundry list of other stuff that's wrong. Been going to the same dealer since I got the car in 2013 and there has never been any mention of things that might be going wrong or 'keep en eye on this'.

I'm really not amused at this list:
Radiator hoses leaking($600)
Valve cover leak($1600)
Rear bypass hose leak($1000)
Steering rack ($2,400)
Rear subframe leak ($2400)

After reading through this thread I'm even more suspicious that the list is b.s.since no one seems to have had any of these issues let alone all of them at the same time. They sent pictures but will have to show them to me when I go pick up the car later today.

Did they show you what's leaking where, or just present a list? Based on those prices, you might as well get rid of the car
