Geeze. Imagine how the dog felt. Lonely, scared, unable to procreate. It's like my first year of college all over again.

LOL, I'm just kidding. I commuted to college.

Okay, okay, okay... I'll finally figure out wth that means. I've heard that phrase maybe 5 times and never got it.

I think I get it. What I meant was the guilt I felt abandoning my car, was worse than the guilt about the dog.
Funny John. I bet damn near everyone on here can relate.

As a side note, your throttle bodies look like they've been through a salt bath... I'm guess you live in area where they salt and sand the roads in the Winter. Anyway, IMO your engine bay would definitely benefit from a little buffing with a scotch bright pad or some other type of buffing pad on that aluminum.
Those are slotted for slight adjustment side to side, there's very little wiggle room and it is one solid piece so I doubt it even fit a Q50 depending on how close the mounts are.

It could definitely use some scrubbing one of these days. The car has been in Nebraska and Kansas for 10 years, so shes seen quite a bit of snow haha.

Thanks for the info. I was just curious if there was any adjustment at all since not all G's are exactly the same. GT Spec gives a decent amount of adjustment in all their braces although this has cause issues with a couple of the lower chassis braces coming loose over time. Really need to make sure they are tight before running your neighborhood track day.

After being super busy (and broke) for the last month or so as we moved into our new home, The dust is finally beginning to settle. I finally was able to take a weekend + “a few” days away from the office to knock off a number or projects that have been in the queue for a while now..and do some beer drinking…

-Front and Rear diff oil changed along with the Transfer Case, I don’t have a ton of drive time yet but so far the difference is quite noticeable. Everything feels smoother and shifts are less harsh.

-Wheels de-dipped (harder than I thought), then re-dipped using a new color recipe. I was looking for something between a gunmetal and black chrome. I really like the way they came out, they’ll definitely work until I find the right set of wheels I’ve been hunting for.

-Painted my license plate frames and front bracket color matched to Liquid Platinum finish on the car. This was kind of a little filler project, but I’m pretty happy with the outcome. After pic isn't very good, low light.

-Mirror Mounted my Passport 9500ix.

-Apexi Smart Accel Controller installed. I know there’s mixed opinions out there on these but I’ve read a few reviews where this was reported to improve the driving experience. Pretty neat little piece of tech, I haven’t gotten to fully explore the 7 different modes in depth yet but my out of the box impression is that there are 2-3 modes that are useful and work great. The rest of them are impractical and in some cases unsafe.

-Wrapped things up with a proper wash and wax.

Wheels look great! I have mine dipped also a mettalic anthracite gray, however I am huge fan of the color of your's. What colors did you use and how many coats?

Funny you mentioned the throttle controller as I also installed one last week, I didn't do it for performance reasons but mainly because I hate the feel of my gas pedal and after driving many other cars including two Q50s and 13 G37S that were so easy and smooth on the pedal whIle mine is stiff and seems like it has added resistance the further I press down I wanted some adjustment.

It surprisingly is more useful than I thought and am much happier with it than expected. Similar to yours it has multiple modes and functions many for me are unecessary but kinda fun to play with such as launch control. I just like the added adjustment to the pedal travel and feel.

I had the anthracite grey true metallic before this. I liked it a lot but eventually wanted a little more shine.

Here's what I used for the 4 wheels, in this order. Not exactly sure on the amount of coats, I just used the cans until they were at about 10% which is where I've found you start to run into splatter.

Wheels off the car is the way to go.

-Primer Grey (2 cans) - I had these in the garage so I figured i'd use them to as kind of a primer coat and to thicken up the coverage. - roughly 3 light coats per wheel.

-Dark Grey (2 cans) - I used this as the base color because it was more or less the shade of grey I was after. This color also happened to be on sale from DYC for like $3 something a can. Again, roughly 2-3 coats give or take..

-Graphite Metallizer (4 cans) - I went heavy on this as it provided the "Black Chrome" element I was looking for and also has glossy properties. Roughly 4-5 coats per wheel, reducing drying time and going with very wet coats for the last 2 passes. I also got these on a weekend sale from DYC for 15% off.

Also, For best results: make sure to drink half a beer between coats while watching youtube videos.

So somewhere between 10-11 coats i'd say. My first go round' I think I did about 5 or 6 coats with the wheels on the car. They looked good and held up well, but peeling it off was a major hassle. The dip was very thin in some hard to reach/spray areas. If your thinking of re-doing your's, Here's what I did for the areas that wouldn't easily peel and to prep for the new dip (after a little trial and error, worked fantastic)

- Goo Gone - let the un-peelable areas soak for 4-5 minutes, then lightly scrub with a terry cloth towel.
- Simple Green - spray and wipe down the entire area to rid the wheels of any left over Goo Gone.
- Alcohol - spray and wipe down every nook and cranny to prep for the new dip, especially around the lip. I found that using a credit card wrapped in a micro fiber towel works great for getting the lip cleaned out.
