The Org was certainly wild at times. With 8 gens of the Maxima, there was always an influx of younglings. This forum is soooo much more tame for sure. Here we typically only ban spammer accounts, maybe once a month.

What did I do today?

I removed my R2C intakes, disassembled them so that I could clean everything, polished the SS bolts in the PDM clamps, sanded off the rust in the heat shields and repainted them. Have to do this every two or three years. Nothing stays new and perfect forever.

Beautiful day for a hand wash, then rolled back into its home.

IPL center caps should be coming in soon, looking forward to getting rid of those chrome ones (they didn’t even match the finish on the duckfeet wheels). Just gotta figure out how I’ll install em (no longer own a floor jack)

Detailed the engine bay. It's holding up pretty good, IMO.

Nice! Makes it hard to justify buying a used set of Carsmo ***** for over $100... if you can find them.

Gotta ask as I've never noticed before. But what are you using to cover the hole above the struts??

Nothing fancy, but finally had my taillights tinted.
After trying it myself about 7 times and wasting 7 rolls of vinyl, i gave up and just took it to a professional.
The curve in the taillights makes it really difficult to tint. Anyways, im happy with the result.

Dont mind the dirty car....its horrible weather here .

Ha very relatable. I vinyl-wrapped my window trim years ago and it came out Ok. But it had aged over the years, so tried to redo it (twice) with much less success. Vinyl wrapping is a young man’s game, apparently. About to take the car to a reputable shop (4x the cost but still worth it to me)

Your lights came out nice

Had an interesting convo about that with the wife yesterday. She's researching replacements for her CX-5 and everything she likes is a tad over-chromed. I suggested wrap (and my G has thewindow trim wrapped, so she knows what that looks like).

Also noted that the QX50 Sport version - that's one of the differences for the Sport, the chrome and logos are blacked out. Hmm. No big brakes though - standard sliding single piston sadness.

I drove the QX55 and QX50 as loaners, honestly the engine on them / CVT was very noisy....

The ride quality was good, and the seats were very comfortable though. Both are not made in Japan.
