If that was the only obstacle, I’d give it a go

But the surface of the chrome center caps makes me think my amateurish painting skills will not lead to a result that looks remotely close to factory (high standard but one I don’t often relax)

They are offered in different finishes. Only the Q50 is offered, so you may be right.

The ridged silver looks like the OEM version for the duck feet, but there is also a black/chrome version that is also an option.

Update: May not work as there is a separate entry here for the identical centercap yet it lists our car as the only application: https://www.z1motorsports.com/wheel-...5202fe108e0cce

$12 to $60 dollars each. Yikes. Painting may work. The ridged surface may be a little challenging as you noted. Thinking though back to the days of building models. What about trying Testors model paint as that holds up well on plastic.

The wheel need to be removed to pop these out correct?
Thanks for this. I did look closely at the IPL center caps, and they are a gunmetal color which might match my wheels. And they’re a smooth surface, not ridged like the non-IPL center caps.

But the IPL option on the Z1 website makes them prohibitively expensive.

I do check eBay for second hand IPL center caps every few months though. They’re def an option.

Isn't there a Nissan version that's black with a chrome logo? IE like the Altima/Maxima wheels?

I considered painting mine to match the black (coupe sport wheels) and then buffing the paint off the infiniti logo, but getting paint to stick to a chromed plastic is honestly not worth the time when it's exposed to the elements.

Yep, Altimas and Maximas did come with black center caps with chrome Nissan “burger” emblems. These are the right size and would almost certainly fit (54mm dia, nine prongs).

Might go this route, even though there’s not a single other Nissan badge on the car (nobody would notice except me, which is unfortunately enough for me to think twice about it).

I did replace the G37S badge with 370GT, probably because of playing Gran Turismo as a kid (I also liked the homage to the JDM nomenclature)

I got rid of the OEMassive headlights and went to OEM style with black housings. Surprisingly they came with Philips bulbs so I just used what came with. Also new front grill and wheels but I'll get better pics of those when I'm finished.

Excuse the unsolicited advice, but I’ve had a variety of mesh-style grills on my car over the years, and this thicker ABS mesh is a nice way to enhance the look (closely matches the mesh style of the lower grill too): https://www.customcargrills.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Dia_Plastic_Sharp_B15

The thickness means that at an angle, the mesh itself isn’t too see-thru.

I like gadgets and hated the fact that the G doesnt have digital speedo, so i installed this ali OBD hud (via OBD splitter). Works great. Still need to add the reflective film.

Yep, sure have. I’m interested in those, just not at the price point I’ve seen (Z1 sells the for $141…each!).

But I keep an eye out on eBay, maybe I’ll luck out and find them being sold by a salvage yard or something

@Zack342 your post got me to run a part number search on eBay, and turns out there’s a seller with a set of 4, brand new, OEM IPL center caps for about $80 (still kinda absurd for four pieces of plastic, but better than $500+ from Z1). Already pulled the trigger

Thanks for the reminder, kind sir

Grabbed it from the Z1 page: https://www.z1motorsports.com/wheel-...s-p-23811.html

Google pulls up some FX models for this part number too, but hopefully they fit

Cross-referenced here, 2-1/8” dia and nine-prong, I’d be pretty unlucky if they don’t fit

I finally finished my rear fenders after 4 years of putting them off. I am not in love with the results but they look way better than just cut fenders. I riveted them in. I still would like to get Ulterior motives metal flares molded in (which also goes on the doors and looks more natural), but for now this will have to do. And yes I know my car is not for everyone! At least it was just a rebuilt title car would have felt guilty cutting up a clean title car. Also this project has been a long journey for me! I am not a rich guy and am supporting my family (wife and 3 kids) on one income! This is 10 years worth of parts and work!

Took my wing off so I can use the car for work lol! Trunk cannot be used with the big ****. 4 bolts and it's off though. Also some 200 MP shots. Fenders are growing on me.

I waited a couple of days to see if anyone would point out this typo, but nobody did. This forum is much more tame than the maxima.org forum when I joined up over there in 2005, which is a good thing. Please don't ban me, Rochester.

On a serious note, kudos to you, SupraOfDoom. Always nice to see when someone works within their means and makes the best of what they have. I am a new dad, so I understand where you are coming from. The car looks great. I respect you sir! Take care, and stay safe.
