Installed the wireless android auto / carplay module. Got it for $325 shipped/import fees. Everything works. Keeps stock mic and rear camera view. Also has a popup for AC controls while in android auto and works with day/night mode based on car headlights.
Installing was sure challenging at points, theres not much room behind the nav unit so i tucked the module behind the screen, it sits flush there between the plastick bracket. Lost a few screws from the nav unit, had to find fitting new ones and blew the light/illumi fuse (was too lazy to disconnect battery) so had to get to the ipdm fuse box which is a pita if you ask me.
Anyways, it works great, am happy with the result.

That is awesome, are you able to switch to the factory display?
Do you have a link for this product?

Yeah you can go back with the press of a button on steering wheel or the center console. You can also choose to have radio on or whatever else audio and just the screen for aa/cp.
I bought it from https://www.carnavigationbox.com/ talked to a guy called Cosmo Xiong. They are based in Hong Kong but the item got here in 3 days through FedEx.

That is great, I like that unit a lot. Thank you for sharing this!
I was going to do the android auto unit that has a large top display but I would of lost the factory screen functionality which you use to set settings in the car etc.

Yeah i looked at those too but wanted to keep as much stock as possible and this gives me option to do whatever. Plus i really wanted to keep stock mic and rear camera view which most of those systems eliminate.

I like the one you installed since its switchable with the OE system, in case I want to install Motivate's GTR gauge system.
I would get the one that uses the OEM display area, while the screen is smaller, you can go back to the factory menu, whereas the one I had, you can't do that.

If you had the time you can probably clean it up quite nicely with some polishing.
It must be pretty old. It came on my car when I bought it and the previous owner got it used off of another car.
I plan on replacing the rubber hangers and will polish the exhaust back up to its former glory when it's warm out again.
Does anyone know where I can get the hangers for less than $50 a piece? lol
I can laser engrave those for you. Are they aluminum? I can deep engrave or just laser mark them.
Here is a video
@Josh South I’m intrigued, although I couldn’t get the video to work (never had IG). And the blank center caps are plastic (likely ABS), so I don’t believe engraving would work?
It has been a LOOOONG time since I have posted here. But worked on the car this weekend.....
Years ago I had this idea for OEM looking DRLs, but that were much more affordable. I purchased all the connectors, wire, and LEDs for the project, but it all sat... for years. I had to take the bumper off this weekend to do some other things so I decided to finally do the DRLs. Did some research to refresh my memory and to my surprise I saw a youtube video and a thread here where they did my EXACT idea. Even down the LEDs I had purchased. Wanting to be a little unique, I came up with this. OEM-ish, but different. And with flare.
