Finally some nice weather so i did some things on my list of stuff to fix.
Like (7 years ago?) the dealer did something in the passenger door, ever since then it's rattled with music playing. SO annoying. Took apart the door and found like half the screws were loose, with one metal bracket pretty much just flopping around. Nice.... Replaced all the clips, added foam gaskets and even some dynamat for good measure. Hopefully my rattles are gone for good. Sidenote, I never realized how absolutely massive the door woofers are.
I also finally changed my oil after 2 years (5k miles) and found this disaster. It seems have leaked from the oil filter housing area. I'm hoping the old filter was just loose / had a bad seal or or something and just changing it fixed the issue, but we'll see. It doesn't seem like oil filter housing leaks are a common issue.
Put my summer wheels back on too. Nice not having a TPMS light on nonstop again.
That's an interesting hood, Supra. It's really too bad the OEM plastic intake isn't more attractive. Do you have plans to swap out for an aftermarket intake now to really take advantage of the viewing window in the hood?
For now I bought a Z1 oil cap and the zspec engine bolt dress up kit. It's not much but it's better than what it looks like currently. My end goal is and always has been ITB's, and so this hood makes sense for that even if it's a long ways off.
Anyway, the quality is extremely good, better than any other carbon fiber hood I've owned. Most importantly, the dreaded gap that is present on most of our CF options is gone on this since it was designed fresh for our cars. For anyone wondering, the group buy price was solid, $1300 shipped. If you want one now I think it will be closer to $2000 shipped on their site. I know most guys here are traditionalist but just throwing that information out for documentation purposes. Mine also came with covers for the vents that you can add or remove if you're concerned about water getting in your engine bay. https://cmsttuning.com/products/cmst...42481770070255

Sorry to suggest this after you have put your doors back together again but while you were in there, I would recommend taking out the large bolts (I believe there are ten) that hold the glass regulator assembly into the door frame and removing what I believe they call the base assembly, along with the window glass. This will allow better access to the door cavity without having to contort your hand and arm to gain entry. Once at this point, strategically put some MLV on the inner skin of the door panel to dampen the actual door skin. Not only does this reduce the ringing of the door woofer, it also solidifies the door and makes it sound like an actual luxury car when you close the door.
Ah you know what I was trying to think of a way to get some dyamat back behind there into the actual door skin. I removed the woofer but there was really not much space behind it. Didn't think about taking out the whole glass.
I'll see how this does and maybe ill open it back up. It already seems way better than before so I may be doing the rest of the doors.

Yeah, sorry bout the "day late and dollar short" suggestion timing but I went through months of hating my G every time I shut the door. I finally came up with the solution after trying this and that. Overkill to be sure but even my wife's Avalanche sounded more expensive when I closed the door. Well, it was at the time, but its a truck for Pete's sake
Today I decided to fix my ebay cf grill up a bit. It had some major sag among many other fitment issues. The sag is what bothered me the most. My solution was to take an OEM grill I had laying around and cut the center out, then stuff the center between this grill to space it out like OEM spacing. I have some more trimming to do to clean it up and make it smaller but I think it will look better than some the fins drooping. If I didn't get this grill for free I would have been pissed. It already has some cracks and the fitment is still kinda wack, so maybe some day I'll replace it with the CF + Mesh grill style. I think those kind of ruin the look a little but it does make it look more aggressive. I also have some limp **** intake v2 brackets (from KC James on FB) coming for my titanium intakes, so they sit straight without any sag. Should also look better behind the grill that way.
Haven't posted on here in a minute... but wanted to share my new setup.
Konig Dekagram 18x10.5 +18 squared, 265/35/18. Haven't seen anyone run these on sedans yet. For sure an aggressive setup. Fit isn't dialed in yet but will be soon. Doesn't rub currently but I'll have to pull the rear fenders to tuck. Have more info in my youtube video.

Ignore how dirty it is, but I've been doing some engine dress up. I know it's not much but I like that even on a budget there is some stuff I can do to spice things up a little bit. I plan on doing the bolts in the front of the engine when I do my radiator / hoses / and other mods in that area all at once. The zpec bolt kit was kind of meh, and it included things like a 3 point nismo brace bolts but didn't have some others like strut tower bolts (ordered separate). I get my 3" Intake limp fix kit on Monday and then I can throw the bumper back on and after that I'm finally doing my diff/subframe bushings as well as my 4.08 gear rear end! I'm extremely excited about that.
Ever had someone, or someone’s ask you, “bro,.....what’s like with you and,............like,.......huh,......other infinity g owners?.......”. I just tell them we’re g’ed up from da feet up homie!! Awww ahaha really I thought that was “northern California” HELLA funny!. Lol Alright, alright, I’m done lol well besides starting a blossoming comedy act. Which you can tell still needs work. Here’s what I’ve been up to. I’ve had the black brushed aluminum on the car for a year now, it still looks excellent, not bad for my first or second thing I ever wrapped before. I wanted to darken the cab up even more so. I wrapped the “shifter gate”, long chrome trim, upper button bezel and the small top trim piece right above the screen. All in gloss black I love it, I got all my running interior lights, (ie) gauge lights, screen lights, radio and A/C instruments set on the lowest setting and every window in the car i tinted to 2% and the windshield 20% with a 2% brow. Oh yeah the sunroof I put a 2% over the factory 20%. I love how dark it is

Oh yeah I also finally, put my stupid fog light trim back on after a year of messing with the 1step of this build. Tried to match the flat over gloss in the headlights I did as well Believe me when I say this step is a build was not necessarily a plain step but one out of convenience. For the moment and yes I know the garage is a complete mess. Just like the Ozzy Osbourne song “Going through changes”
so is this sedan. And I was doing this all at the same time I’ve had a bunch of extra gloss baby blue, so I decided to wrap my all black toolbox. I know this is not the right place to be bringing this up but. I’m trying to set something up like Northern California G owners or something doesn’t seem like there’s many things going on anymore
