Correct: the closer you can get the resonators to the engine, the better your results. My car had horrendous rasp and the sound was just awful; so I wanted them as close as possible. I have four total - the two Vibrant resonators on the Y pipe and then the two that came on the Top speed system; located on the mid pipe. The sound is great for me; it might be too quiet for some. The car has a low grumble upon start-up and idle and is pretty quiet and mild under 3k RPMs. Once it's over 3k RPMs though, you can hear it but there is zero rasp. I do have very slight drone in the 1500-1800 range but it isn't enough to cause discomfort to anyone who wouldn't know it was there; if that makes sense. The G is my DD so I wouldn't be able to stand any sort of drone that would be uncomfortable during my commute.

I have FortuneAuto 500s (coilovers). I have the height maxed on them and still rub on occasion. For reference, I am 25.5'' ground to fender clearance on the stock 17s. Bigger aftermarket rims would probably give you the clearance needed to avoid rub all together if you placed them where I did. Unfortunately, I haven't drove the G but 5 miles every week around the block since February and have not bothered putting the aftermarket/summer set-up back on.

Have you guys tried adding just bottle resonators after the test pipes? You won't have much clearance issues with that set up, if you're lowered on something mild like swift.

@hexotic that is effing cool, seriously impressed!

Ran it up on ramps as I try to figure out why my FI exhaust is no longer hanging straight. I've been thinking about it in the back of my head for a year or so now, and yesterday it stopped being just a feeling. It's a thing. The driver side muffler is off like 5° and the passenger side a little less than that. It didn't always sit that way. At least, that's how I remember it, IDK. Whatever, it's bugging the crap out of me. I can't un-see it anymore.

On the plus side of things... every time I use these Race Ramps, I'm reminded why they are so awesome.

You know the bracket hangers at the back of the exhaust? Two bolts holding up a C-Bracket that has a rubber bushing on the inside? Well on my driver side, that bushing is weak as fck. Passenger side, not so much. In other words, I can lift the driver side muffler an easy 1/4" to 1/2" (or thereabouts.)

So I thought, I can replace that. Two 12mm nuts around a stud or bolt, IDK which. So in prep, I blasted them, and let it sit for an hour. Then went at it with the ratchet. Gave it a little nudge to the right to loosen the grip, then turned it around and immediately snapped one right off.

God dammit. Now I have to order the damn brackets & bushings, at $30/each. And reach out to the shop for repair.

Such a freaking idiot. Now it obviously hangs low, and it rattles like a motherfkr.

Wow. You're amazing. I mean, you did all that, and my biggest accomplishment today was snapping a rusty bolt.

That shield is gorgeous. Why the holes?

Those plates bolt in and there is a rubber gasket inside the aluminium channel to stop any rattles. I made 3 sets. No holes, 8 larger holes and this one. I can change them based on season or remove them completely. Still not rainy/snowy enough to warrant a full shield, but I will be switching around December when I service my filters next time. Cool thing is you can take it out without removing the whole bumper, just the grille.

Oh, the no-holes ones are a bit shorter to allow for a 1/4" drainage channel in the middle.

Went with a meatier tire for the SSR Type F's, now running Continentals' DWS06 tires in a 255/40r/19. The car rides way better with these tires in terms of comfort. Still thinking about getting spacers just to have a little poke for all four wheels, if anyone has any recommendations for spacers I'm all ears.

Probably going to wrap all the chrome as well just to match the rest of the cars black aesthetic.

Today my new TBW under engine cover arrived. I suspect it's going to sit for a while until I change the oil, or until I get motivated.

Looks good though, in black powdercoat.

Love my TBW shield/cover. I thought about black, but went with silver so if I start leaking a fluid (knock on wood), I will hopefully notice it sooner and be able to see it on the shield.

Had to pay dealership to replace the grommets in the firewall today from a leaking/clogged sunroof. Fortunately caught it before it went catastrophic like others have experienced here. Still, a $450 bill for $50 in parts kinda sucks. But at least I know I'm good for quite a while.

What was the reasoning to go for TBW over Z1? Was leaning towards Z1 because of the service panel.
