Some sleuths found a video:

Charger gave me the wave by and the rest was murder she wrote. (Start at 4:20)

Keep in mind the VSC light was on solid at this point. Bone headed move on my part. I should have waved the C7 GS by and just pulled into the pits ASAP.

Thank you for posting this. This is exactly what I want on my chrome, didn't know there was a DIY product. I was planning on wrapping in black vinyl, but now I think I'll do this instead. Any feedback?

Waiting to get a second opinion. First shop seemed eager to write it off and rush me off the phone. I told this second shop to actually check the frame and let me know how bad it is.

Ouch, glad you're OK though. Airbags go off?

Yeah, I'd definitely get a second opinion.

fingers crossed man, I think everyone one here feels your pain and is rooting for you to come out as far ahead as possible, myself included...

if it comes to it, addition to your wheels consider parting out your whole car you will probably get more for it than from the scrapper on easy to remove stuff alone like the akebonos, your exhaust, suspension and interior bits...

Parting out is going to be such a huge hassle... I'm a new dad, I just don't have the time. It would be nice to pay someone to part it out. It still runs, airbags are intact. We'll see what the shop says tomorrow.

ouch

so what happened exactly though? Did the brakes fail or did the VSC system just shut down?

Maybe you could try selling it through copart or just listing it for parts on eBay motors. A scrapper isn't gonna give you much at all for it.

Hey new Dad, here's some advice from 18 years in the future (no pun) - start saving now, buddy. Because in 18 years, you might be remembering this event in the context of one year of college costs.

We are saving. Worst case scenario (car can't be fixed & insurance won't cover) would SUCK, but I can pay it off + get another car and still live. Just would really prefer not to. Shop is closed today so I won't get word until Monday.

Threw on 15mm spacers for the front wheels. They are 20x9 +32 wheels but now the spacers makes it a +17 offset. A little more poke than I would like, but I prefer a more flush look over a sunken in look like it was before. No rubbing issues so far.

+17 on a sedan is crazy, you must be running a ton of camber. I had a lot of poke with 9.5 +25.

Surprisingly no, I'm at -1.8 on both sides.
