It's not so much offset as much as wheel design. When I got my wheels they promised the 8.5s would clear the front, but 9.5s would not. I wound up having to space the front -10mm to +25, which is OK with camber but pretty pokey with stock FUCAs. So IMO it would be better to get the higher offset wheel and space as needed if they guarantee that will fit the Akebonos.

Admittingly, now I’m more confused than in the beginning. I’d rather not use spacers unless I absolutely have too. On the wheel site, when I put my vehicle as a G37S Sedan instead of G37(non-sport) in recommends +32 and +45. But you think I’ll still have run into fitment issues with Akebono brakes? Are you running RC7s on a Sedan?

Thanks again for all this information guys.

A 20x9+32 will be about the same fit at the fender as my 9.5 +38, just a little outside the fender edge when looking straight down.

That extra 10mm in offset will provide a lot more room for the bigger calipers, but ALWAYS confirm w/ the wheel vendor prior to purchase. Jason or Josh at Getyourwheels.com are real good about checking for this.

And BTW, these wheel purchases always seem pretty simple at first, so your being confused is nothing new around here

Niiice G, bro! The stance looks good.

I will definitely confirm fitment before placing my order. I'm glad I decided to check here first, because I didn't think about clearing the Akebono brakes once I decide to upgrade. You guys just saved me a ton of heart ache. I appreciate all the help.

Should I ask for a 255/35/20 and 285/30/20?

I plan on installing a coil over kit as well. I’m currently looking at the RS-R iSports.
Not completely set on them though, as I haven’t seen any feedback on interwebs.
Any thoughts?

As Brad already mentioned, I would definitely go with the +32mm offset up front for better fitment and more caliper clearance. For tires I would go with the 255/35R20's and 285/30R20's. I'm running 255's up front on 20"x9.5" wheels with +35mm offset and a 10 mm spacer (for a +25mm offset), so you should also be able to add some spacers in the future if you find that you need more clearance when upgrading your calipers.

Didn't realize 265/40/18 has such a limited selection of performance tires..... ugh what do I do??? Really don't want to risk rubbing with the 275/40 on a 18x9.5 +38

275@+38 should fit. That is 3mm more fender clearance than my 255@+25, which just barely fits with stock FUCAs and fits flush with SPC FUCAs. 4DRZ recently flipped his staggered setup for ****s and giggles and his 275s fit up front perfectly. I think he had a +40 or +35 offset.

What about the Continental Extreme Contact? That's a really nice tire for the money and comes in that size.

18x9.5 +38 Weds SA15R, 265/40 Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Position. Still need to lower the front a tad bit more.

Fitment looks great, ZM. Is that a 265 square set-up?

Indeed it is, it actually looks like I definitley have room for a 275/40 in the future. But I'm digging this setup so far.

I agree... it's a very nice looking set-up, especially for a square set-up which typically means too narrow of a rear tire. Although 275's would be nice too, especially if you can squeeze them in up front... but its always better to start out with what you know works and then go bigger from there. Plus, you leave yourself something to change again later on. I've pretty much bumped up my tire sizes by 10mm with each new set of tires. 315/25R20's will be my next step for the rear, but I'm unsure if they will be too wide for my current wheels (10.5").

I just sold sold the Forgestar CF10 in favor of these SSR MS1. These are heavier but I am willing to sacrifice the weight for the look. The tires were already on there and aspect ratio is too small. I’ll ride on them for a bit before changing them.

19x9 +24 on 245/35
19x10 +29 on 275/30

Rears needed a 5mm spacer to clear the calipers.
Fronts needed a 10mm spacer but currently has 20mm spacer on.
