Trying to do something similar but the contours of the OEM grille emblem don't really work well with mounting onto the mesh.
Thanks

I'd think you could just bond the trunk emblem to the mesh, no?

That's likely the route I'll take, only advantage to using the emblem from the grille is that it has the background/pedestal (black part) that makes it look a little bit nicer, we'll see

I hear that. Sure you can do something creative, man. What you're talking about has to be pretty easy. I imagine if you bond a cut piece of flat plastic, painted black, to the backside of the mesh behind the Fuji... that would work.

Not sure what is meant by bond a piece of plastic, but here's the emblem I went with, about 1inch wider than OEM size, but should fill out the grille nicely. If it looks too open, then I'll see what I can do to add the background piece

And here's a photo of what the emblem will be mounted on:

Just glue, man. IDK why I used the word bond. Sounded better in my head, I guess.

Well it never got swapped as its a JDM 2012 V36, one would assume the grilles are the same design whether its a V36 or G37. I painted the rest and the emblem and mounting section just unclips from the grille....

The mesh it self, eBay search
"Universal plastic honeycomb mesh"
Good luck
Oh and add for the front emblem, i simply used the rotary cut off tool to cut away the mounting base off. Then used hot glue to mount two screws to the back side. Poke it through the mesh openings and use any little metal sheet or plastic to use as retainer. Secure with any matching washers and nuts.

Thanks for the heads up VT, in the interim I orders a new emblem that doesn't have that base attached, we'll see how it comes out...

Here's the result (please excuse filthy car):
Overall very happy w the turnout
Do you guys think adding a red "S" badge would be too much?

You should be. From what I can tell that looks fantastic.
Where... on the grille? Are you thinking because Audi does it with their sport models?
My first reaction is no-way-no-how. But then again... your car, and maybe it will look OK. Shop it up, first.
Thing is, the "S" on the G37 Sport Package is kind of swoopy-lame all by itself. Maybe if you relocated the entire G37S badging from the trunk to the grille?
No wait, nevermind. Don't do it. LOL
