I could conceivably buy a new Z, if I had the money and interest. But... there's a few things out there the same size that have either more zip or better handling or both, for same or less money.
I really like the infiniti design language right now, BUT they don't make a car that really captures my attention. If they made another sedan or coupe off the new Z, *maybe*
Same as the other manufacturers. Ford and IIRC Chevy are suv-only except for the halo cars. Dodge is phasing out the big iron cars (Challenger/Charger). Mazda still has the 3 and they'll never let go of the Miata, so there's that. Nissan has rental fleet altimas to sell. Honda I'm not sure - I see tons of newish civics still but accords are rare sightings. Toyota seems to be all 4runners and CRVs.
There's definitely a minivan moment going on - CUVs are the new station wagon for sure, and having had 2 of them ourselves (plus my company car) (three if you count my Jeep Cherokee, an early CUV) I see the point. They're the swiss army knives of vehicles. Most people don't need a truck full time, but the sedan sits too low and doesn't hold enough crap.
6 years of ownership in and I'm still getting adjusted to how long the G sedan is... it's the longest car I've owned since inheriting my mother's Mercury Gran Marquis...
The 4Runner is the new Camry. Seems every other driveway has one or the other (won't ask how the hell they're paying for these things, but...). There are no less than 10 in the local subdivision ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When you're old, you've got a lifetime of "this thing used to only cost whatever" in your blood.
I remember, when shopping for the sport sedan that ended up being the G, looking at a Ford Fusion Sport. AWD, 300+ HP from a turbo 2.7L six, decent handling... but $60k. For a FORD.
Now F150s cost what we paid for our house.
Since it contains cursing, I won't post it, but there's a meme from one of the Deadpool movies where the teen superhero tells DP he's old...

I know. I remember when 30k seemed like an insane amount to pay for a new car. Now I have colleagues financing cars that cost as much as my first condo.
Big day at the shop for my wife's Forester. Bought new in 2018, it has 90,000 miles on it now. So today:
Coolant flush & fill
Brake fluid flush & fill
Transmission gear oil drain & fill
Front & Rear differential gear oil drain & fill
New Serpentine Belt
4-wheel alignment
Snow Tires
NYS Inspection
And teed up for next Spring:
4 new AS tires
Both rear bearings
Rear rotors & pads
Spark plugs

Trying to keep the old family car running solid.
90K on a Forester. It's just getting started. I'm going through this process with the 2012 102K mile CRV I just bought for my oldest son to replace his 200K mile Ford Ranger.
Over the weekend I went to a Nissan specific Car and Coffee - It's a much smaller meet - maybe 20-30 people but I was reminded of a time when Nissan was doing things right. (The GT4 owner has a couple of 240z that he is working on). A R32 GTR and recently imported S15 with a big engine build in the works. Events like these take me back, having real in depth conversations about Nissans and the guys/girls that own multiples... Maybe this is what I need to stay motivated.
Surprisingly the Akebono brakes on the McLaren P1 are only 6-piston fronts. Might be due to larger pistons and a lower vehicle weight as well as optimizing (minimizing) caliper weight?.. Whatever the reason it's awesome to see both logos on the caliper of this hypercar. Indicates that McLaren was proud of the partnership.
