That was about as well-modified as you can go with the suspension on the G, which would make it very formidable in handling performance.

I suspect your G would handle better, but you will enjoy the comfort and adjustable feature of the SS more.

Was looking at S4's when I bought this G. Coming from an 04' G35 the temptation was very real.... 0.9% on end of year 2015's. I just couldn't justify spending nearly double on a vehicle I would only want to own with warranty. Ultimately, I chose the platform I was familiar with and told myself I would enjoy personalizing it while still spending less. Finding a 3yr old 6MT Sedan with only 15k miles on it (in Canada no less) definitely helped cement my decision, but I occasionally look back at my Audi build plan and wonder how it would have turned out...

I am in love with the new Alpha Romeo sedan.... its stunning, powerful, Ferrari California chopped off engine lol, luxurious, drives like a dream. (lucky enough to test drive one at a special media event.)

LOL starting at 95K, we could have a long list of options in that bracket... although I believe this one would remain as the list got chopped down. Nice choice

Still really like the G, but can't help thinking about the dwindling supply of gently used 6MT S4s and how the new one discontinued the MT.

Wish I can say the poor financial decision is what's holding me back, but it's really because I need to live in/near the city for at least 2.5 more years, and at my current mileage rate (~4k mi/yr), I just can't justify it. I also plan to go to a track event this spring, which I think will have a positive effect.

I think as G owners, nearly all of us have gone through the process of entertaining the BMW 3 and Audi S, among others, to be ultimately drawn by how well balanced the G was (is) as far as price, specs, features, reliability, looks, etc.

I think what I need to do is finally commit to some noticeable mods that will in some ways reinvent the G for me. I know which ones they are, but being on the fence (and not modifying cars much in the past) has put it on the back burner.

1st world problems, I know.
Yeah the G really is a well balanced package. My dad got a b8.5 S5 and while yes, it's absolutely amazing.. the G isn't THAT far behind. Especially a modded one.
That DCT in the S5 though, is amazing. And the sport seats, dynamic ride control, etc.
Another thing is reliability, this S5 (brand new) has been in the shop already quite a few times.

Lol, semi realistic dream car. Right now, I could buy something around 50k and still stay somewhat financially stable, so I'm a long way from the alpha, but the G is more than enough car for me right now

I'm with you on that, there are many cars that I can afford to own that I don't need lol. It's nice having flexibility to do the other things in life I enjoy.

I don't do the FB scene but keep me in mind for any worthwhile VQ||North events

Think the Season Opener BBQ will be the first worth the drive event, cant wait for the weather to stabilize so things can be planned out.

This had replaced the M5 as my dream car until I read that... . I still may try and find a clean 6spd E60 M5 soon. The V10 na engine is intoxicating!

I didn't know that. Really? Man, that sucks.

When I first saw the Giulia online, my first reaction was to be turned off by it, and let's just admit... mispronounce it. That was my second reaction, too. But lately I've been seeing more reviews, and I will admit to coming around on this car.

Love to see it in person. There will probably be one at the Toronto Auto Show this weekend, but that's too soon and too far away for me to plan.

One thing thats sad, they pulled the manual transmission at the last moment. It only comes with automatic. Something about the clutch pedal cutting off dummy feet during crash testing. It was cheaper to get rid of the manual than rework the frame and still get the car out on schedule. On another note, neat feature is that the brakes are digital. No physical connection.

its a good looking car in person, but the proportions are a bit odd. It looks kind of stubby, and the front doors almost look like they are too small, or the pillar is too far forward. something just looks off. I saw it last week at the DC show.

Isnt Alfa Romeo one of the least reliable brands in existence?
