My guess: you have slight deposits from your old pads, that your new, thicker pads are coming in constant contact with.
Hmm, didn't think of that. I did wire brush the hub as there was a lot of rust on there (only did the fronts), but it didn't get too much off. I'm going to wait until the bedding is done and then see whats what.

As for ebc, they say to do this because hey have a coating on there initially that needs to wear off. I don't know if this is common for semi race pads?

Question on TPMS:

When swapping them from one set of wheels to another, is there any sort of sealant or gaskets needed for the re-install? Doesn't seem like there was any when I removed them from one set, just wondering before I get tires remounted.

Sidenote, I would rather not have the TPMS altogether. Aside from headache of swapping/upgrading wheels, I' starting to feel that the fluctuating temperature/tire pressure is more an inconvenience than simply being attentive to the tires. Oh well

Mostly just grommets.

Also, why they may be a pain I think TPMS is vital to have in cars these days and probably why the government has mandated they be in all cars going forward now. It can actually be a lifesaver.

I put on some Carsmo ***** yesterday and installed my supplemental grounding wires today. The DIY I followed had a couple of wires too long. Ended up taking like 4 hours start to finish. I had a stubborn throttle body bolt which really tested my patience.

It was a good day

The ***** really make a nice addition to the interior don't they?

Did you reset the ECU? I noted a major difference after I installed the grounding kit, reset the ECU and cleaned the throttle bodies. Really made a difference with the shifting and response.

I really like my Carsmo *****. The only thing I don't like about them is that they get cold very quick, but to be honest I use the steering wheel controls more than the ***** anyway.

+1 on what Chris said.

I'm having the same issue with my Racing Brake ET500 pads and rotors. Basically the pulsing lurch when slowing down and hitting the brakes. They've got 40k miles on them and I think they got seriously glazed after some d1ck on the highway last summer was playing that stupid "I'm not going to let you pass me, even though I'm going slower game". Jack@$$ hit the brakes hard and I had to get on the brakes very hard at 65mph. Just recalling that story pisses me off.

It's been recommended to me by Racing Brake to use a flex hone brush. Search on Amazon for "Flex Hone". I'm planning on swapping my pads out too for a set of XT910's which will offer higher bite and be less prone to glazing the rotors. All you want to do when using a tool like this is just enough to take the schmutz off the rotors.

I don't have a brake lathe so I'm going to try this tool from 3M, which I have on order from Amazon:

Amazon.com: 3M 01410 Roloc Brake Rotor Surface Conditioning Disc Starter Pack: Automotive Amazon.com: 3M 01410 Roloc Brake Rotor Surface Conditioning Disc Starter Pack: Automotive

Same here. Now that I actually think about it, the only thing I ever do with those ***** is turn the radio on and off. With climate control, I almost never touch the HVAC *****.

Wait, I wonder if my ***** are loose too? Haha, wow.

Meh, I don't care. Those CARSMO ***** are gorgeous hardware. Now if he would only make the same brushed SS in a cap for the radiator, that would be cool (no pun).

Link?

I have the ZeeToyz cap. It's not exactly what I want, though.

Alx, do you have any pictures of your car from a side profile? Those wheels are just amazing. I'm a HUGE fan!

See, I was just literally considering them for a second, but now that you mentioned that they get cold very quick which I have enough of dealing just with the Metal TK Hebi Bebi shift **** in the morning...

I can't imagine what how it's going to get further down the road mid winter, I decided to leave a pair of gloves under my seat for just that purpose so I can wear my right glove till it gets warm inside and the **** absorbs some heat haha.

Don't be a baby, just order a set. You can enjoy them for the 7-8 months of the year when its not freezing out.

Yeah, I've recently found out another perk with having the tech package, it has automatic recirculation. It will automatically detect most foul smells and switch from fresh air to recirculation, and it will do the same with warming up the car. I leave my settings on 70 and have the HVAC on auto as well as the auto recirculation and it actually warms up my car a lot quicker. It recirculates until the cabin reaches the optimum temp then switches back to fresh air.

Plus did you know if you turn your radio off you can turn it back on by hitting the source button on the steering wheel?

IDK, I don't really like the fact that they don't really match the brushed interior trim.

Maybe one day.
