It seems out of almost nowhere the VQVHR37 has gone from being a very solid reliable engine that delivers decent power and can really withstand some boost without being built, to being an outdated, underpowered, technologically inferior relic. I'm not sure how. Forget that one if it's variants has been on Ward's 10 best engine list almost every year since it's inception. I still have a lot of fondness for the first generation VQ30DE that I have in my A32 Maxima. But people always want change.

Except for the changes to the body that they hate because it looks like a Hyundai. I mean Lexus. I mean Audi. Or changes to the name to indicate a different direction of the brand for the future because Q50 is so confusing. What the hell kind of car company names a car a letter plus a number? That change is horrible. And for the love of God do not incorporate the very latest cutting edge technology into the car because I will be overwhelmed and confused by it. I will be intimidated into feeling that the car is doing more of the driving than I am or I will be too stupid to use it responsibly and I'll drive off a cliff from not paying attention to my driving. Just put a 750 HP twin turbo in there that gets great mileage and never breaks down and don't increase the price and everything will be just fine! Oh, and you have to call it a Skyline. Damn, how hard is that Infiniti! Are you listening???

It's pretty clearly stated that it has a 7 speed automatic transmission. Nowhere ever has CVT been mentioned anywhere that I'm aware of until this post. The design chief in the video simply stated that it has direct hybrid drive and doesn't have a torque converter. I can't see any way that can be interpreted as anything but a good thing.

Maybe I'm missing something.?
The hybrid idk, an electric motor doesn't need a torque converter since its not a regular set up. I don't drive hybrids so , don't have any interest in them.
Maybe 10 years from now.
How do you have an automatic transmission with no torque converter?
I know for a fact it's no dual clutch/dsg/SMS type, so how can it not have a tq convert.?
The gas powered one, not the hybrid.

It hasn't even been a week and we already got people saying Infiniti is doomed, they have failed, the new q50 won't sell, the Audi guy is going to drive them into the ground and Yadi Yoda.
Would one of you guys give me Saturdays power ball numbers since you know so much about the future with the 15 mintue video you watched and 1000 word press realse you read 4 days ago.
Chill out, we got months before we know any more details, the car doesn't come out for at least 6 more months.

Hey Kaoticdemize, is your Q50 allocation going to be based of of G sales? We are sitting on 44 sedans all x and have another 20 in the pipe line.
