^^Some years ago, yamaha came out with an automatic version of their fjr1300 sport tourer (http://bikeglam.com/wp-content/uploa...FJR1300-21.jpg) . While this model sold some, the majority sat on showroom floors. Part of the fun of motorcycling is being in full control of the vehicle.
^^ When everyone was given the nod to drive a car, it became nothing special at all. With current technologies in hand, you will soon see vast Yellow Cab layoffs. How about starting flying a helicopter until it can fly itself? When technology evolves to allow a plane fly better itself than a human ever be able to, what the point of having a human pilot at all? Then what, jump on the next big thing, a battlestar?
Enjoy your 6MT while you still can. When the time comes, so be it automatic, it's useless to complain.

It's not whether or not would this happen, it is when. To be honest, if they ever decide to sell a self-driving car at a reasonable price, I probably will buy it, but I would keep my G37.

Just like 95% of people who drive SUVs with 4WD: NO ONE is taking that vehicle on trails, up steep grades or even towing a boat. They are for mall parking lots and trips to soccer practice.
Has anyone seen any mention of potential weight penalty or savings? Not mentioning it could mean that the G (oops, Q) might have gained some weight. I hope that's not the case. My xS is already 3,800+ pounds.

Not sure if this is new information since the reveal, but the Autoweek article has a date of 1/21. Says Q50 to get turbo 4 in two years...
Infiniti Q50 to get turbo four-cylinder engine - Autoweek

Too late. A Boeing 747 can virtually land itself. It has a MFD, GPS, and multiple flight management systems that will not only land it by itself but reverse the engines and taxi to within 50 feet of the parking ramp. Whether anyone considers that flying better than a pilot could be argued.

The only time pilots have to 100% involved is when something goes wrong and they have to go full manual.
Look up cat iii landings. Plane can land itself in bad weather and has probably landed itself if you've flown in low visibility weather.
I really like the front end on the new Q50 but they really blew it with the rear end, it looks like a hyundai sonata .... but hey, atleast its not as ugly as the new Lexus IS hahaha (what a disaster that thing is)
