Technology package rarity?

I originally had been seeking a G37xS with the "Technology" package, primarily for the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC). Tried all the local New England dealers, and only one had a G37 with tech, in black, fully loaded. The dealer calimed that Infiniti only brought over a few hundred sedans with the package, as the majority of the sensors were allocated to M37 production...

I checked this black beauty out, and decided that the extra cost, effort to keep it looking sharp, and the sport seats were all turn-offs for me

Long story short, there is still one Technology package model in New England, I decided I didn't really need ICC; went for a regular G37x in smoky quartz.

I wanted the technology package until I found out it requires the $700 addition of the wood trim for the interior. I don't like the look of it. So I never even considered it because of that, even though I really wanted the extra features.

I had it on an 08. The "wood" trim on mine was not real wood after I took a piece off above the glove box to replace the in-cabin filter. It is plastic!!!!! I paid $600 for that!?!?!? I was upset. I did not get the faux wood in my 11.

The ICC is cool, but can be a pain too. I only used it on the highway which for me was about 10% of the time. I liked to use it to pace traffic at a given distance. What I did not like about it is when I came up on slower traffic, if I did not disengage soon enough it would start slowing me down. I like to cruise up behind a big rig, then smoothly move over to the left lane to pass. With ICC, I had to move over way too early or disengage. I do not really miss it on my 11. I liked the head lights that moved in the direction of turn... but again it was cool, but not necessary.

The OEM wood trim is real wood. You may have recived one of those dealer add on kits that are fake wood.

I have the tech package in my 2009 G37xS and I have the aluminum trim.

Apparently it is not even offered on current 6speed sedans??

My car is pretty rare from what I am finding and I quite like the tech package.

We had it on our 08 X Sport, and a year later I bought my 08 6spd with it as well, so I don't have a lot of experience with G35s that aren't fully loaded (except my 05 which was a base model) but I quite like it. The headlights are a fun toy, and the cruise control seems very nice on the drives back and forth to Fargo.

I went used, so the price difference wasn't as great for me, but it still seemed worth it!

I don't think it was a dealer add on. It looked like others I had seen. It looked like factory brochures.

I would have purchased the tech package if it were available for the 2011 6MT. Adaptive headlights are cool but what I really would have liked the ICC as I hate driving in a crowd on the I-5 between SJ and Los Angeles. I would also absolutely abuse the automatic wipers.

Well if it was the OEM wood trim then it was real wood.

And you know that for a fact how? If it is real wood, it's not worth $600. I really don't believe it is a dealer add on as it was listed on my window sticker from the factory. Not an add on sticker either.
