So why did you pick a sedan over a coupe?

Good saying. You could also apply that to BMWs that are out of warranty.

That's an interesting observation...but take it one step further:

I could drive an 1989 Ford Escort aggressively and be "quicker" than most of the cars I see on the road on any given day. Not because the Escort is a quicker car, but because 95% of the drivers I'll come across on the road on any given day aren't interested in speed contests and don't have much of a desire to show me up at the stop light Grand Prix.

That why this whole "racing" mentality is just silly. You don't need a G to be faster than most cars on the road. Hell, I could do that with my 4Runner if I wanted to drive like an idiot.

I love cookies...thanks D. Actually, I bought it cuz it's got great lines, handles way better than most sport sedans, and yes....because it is quick. It just so happens I have a legit dragstrip 15 minutes from my house and for $15 I can race all night & have some fun with my daily driver.

agreed....I drive it very conservatively on public roads. But days at the dragstrip or roadcourse for HPDE's are really fun in this car.

thanks for solidifying my point....that you've missed the point. Any "racing" I do in my G is on closed course in a controlled environment. My guess is that you're the guy who, say if you had a sportbike, the entire center section of tread on the rear tire would be bald and yet the nubs & tread on the outer sections would still be new.

Hey, I don't know where you race, but 13.60's would put you among the slowest cars on the track around here, even on "street night".
Who gives a ****? I've taken my G sedan to the dragstrip too. We're not expecting to keep up with dedicated-racing muscle cars or anything. It's a daily driver/family car that's fun to drive on the road and is fast enough to have some fun at the dragstrip as well. Sorry you don't approve.

my point was that i enjoy spirited driving with this car and it is quick. i have not tried to race anybody although statistically it is typically faster then most cars on the road. you do not enjoy a car with 300+ hp?

the sedan is almost as ubiquitous as the 3-series. the coupe is not. the coupe is like a desert cactus that blooms once in awhile and thus when others see it, it often engenders ooohhss and aahhhhss.

plus with the coupe, baby seats, old people and soccer moms need not apply. it's that simple.

really? i see more coupes than I do honda civics. Almost every high school/college kid here has one. Not saying the sedan isn't common either, but i don't think the coupe is that rare. just sayin...

I chose the sedan cause the sportiness it offers
I know the engine well, coming from a g35 DE motor
Needed space for the family
and the way the G looks dropped, no other sedan can compare.

That's one thing I like about having a coupe---I hardly ever see another one of the road. Civics on the other hand are a dime a dozen...

I'd bet the G37 sedan outsells the G37 coupe by at least 10:1

.
It really depends on the area. Where I'm from (Toronto) the 3 series is literally every 5th car, but there are very few G's at all, sedan or coupe.

When I go down to Miami I see G's all over the place, and they are almost all coupes.

Infiniti's in general are all over the place in NorCal, as are BMW's, Mercedes, Acura's, Honda's, etc... I see equally as many G35/37 coupes as I do sedans...and a lot of them. What I don't see too often are noticeably modded G35/37 coupes and/or sedans. Most people just leave them alone because it's a solid car right from the factory. And yes, the sedan does outsell the coupe....cuz it's quicker AND carries more.

My husband is 6 feet, my daughter is 5'9", I'm 5'4". Guess who gets to sit in the back of the car? Have you tried getting out of the backseat of a G37 coupe? I have and it wasn't pretty.
Also, I like the stealth aspect of the sedan, i.e., it's red but it's got four doors so it can't really be going that fast, can it? Oh, yeah!
