I'm a bit confused regarding my reading(s)...
On the front dash indicator it reads 14.6mpg, but on the status display (NAV) it says 16.8mpg.

Why is there a difference?

I'm mostly local...about 80% and 20% hwy.

I think I need some "lighter" shoes!

U might be reading the 14.6 as the average vehicle speed. There's 2 numbers on the front dash. One is MPG and the other is average vehicle speed.

Nope.
I'm reading the "top" one, which indicates the MPG.

Did you reset them both at the same time?
I know that I don't bother to reset the cluster. I just reset the 'fuel economy' in the Nav/LCD.
I do all my calculations manually on fuelly.com and they come pretty close to the car calculation.

I would assume (not having Nav in our G to confirm) that the difference is result of the measurements. The trip is related to the spinning wheels, while the Nav is quite likely related to GPS information.

Wow. Is 89 the highest you have there?

With or without Nav, you still have a fuel economy status in both your LCD and instrument cluster.

When I reset both of them at the beginning of a fresh tank of fuel, they have the same reading next time the tank is re-fueled. There certainly is never a 2.2mpg difference when reset simultaneously.

You need to reset both DTE counters after each fill-up for their readings to be the same, otherwise the reading will be a cumulative mpg average.

I've never reset the counter on the dash...only the display with the Nav.
How do you reset the dash counter?

Call me stupid!
