i get about 19-21 MPG , 80% highway 20% city. With more spirited driving and a heavier foot my mpg will be worse for sure. During heavy congestion/traffic on the highway i usually keep at least 1 and half car length in front of me. I try not to brake very often during heavy traffic. i just try to keep the car rolling and lightly work the gas enough to keep up with the car ahead. Whenever im behind certain types of drivers that tend to brake/accelerate ALOT during traffic, i usually change lanes and try to get back into rhythm of minimal braking and constant rolling/ light gas until traffic clears up. My .02 cents :]

Great info , i am in the market right now for a 6mt and was wondering on how it would differ from a auto . Do you usually coast in neutral to a stop or off the on ramps on the hwy ?

MT driving tip - when coasting with the car in neutral (or clutch pedal engaged) the engine consumes more fuel than coasting leaving it in gear.
When coasting to a stop, leave the car in gear as long as you can, without stalling it.

I only have 6575 miles on my '11 G37xS 7AT sedan so far. My tank mileage has varied from 17.4 (original dealer fill) to 26.9 (Rte 80 PA into OH). My cumulative mileage is 21.1. Other than two trips to Michigan, driving is mostly suburban. I calculate mileage based on tank fill ups, not the on board instrumentation. While I would like higher mileage, I can't say that I'm disappointed based on the performance.

^ yup. check out the fuel economy meter as you coast in gear. it drops to zero fuel usage in the 6MT. so if you are coasting downhill in gear or approaching a stop/light you use no fuel! on long hills this causes the range to go up.

after 2 years with my '09 6MT i average 20-21mpg 100% city, with a range of ~330-350 miles before gas light comes on. for me that means 3 weeks bewteen fuel-ups. i can live with that in a 330+ hp sport sedan. it is 1-2mpg better than my old '04 6MT sedan.

I wouldn't even consider that bad. Compared to a civic, yeah it's bad but compared to most other sport cars it's good/average. Coming from my other cars and my truck 18-19 mpg city is amazing lol
