I didn't really see a criticism of the other brand. I just saw someone who wanted to break from the "traditional family values " to try something he deemed to speak more to him as an individual.

is it a turbo for each cylinder bank (i suspect its this), or a sequential setup (small turbo for low rpm, backed up by a larger turbo)?

 

That's the way I took it too. Also, after the second view, I saw the wealth and youth of the person that was choosing the Infiniti as a focus and the view of the current grandpa car brand as passe provided a heavy subliminal kicker.

For me, if it had another 50 - 100 hp, I wouldn't care much about Android Auto or what Consumer Reports has to say, I'd place an order. But, at 400 hp, $50K, and no Android Auto... the R&T comparisons will have to be exceptional to make me pull the trigger. I'm hoping for the best.

Any word of an "IPL" model in the works?

Awesome! From the drivers reaction alone I can tell the Red Sport is a beast! Going to make holding out on buying my Q60 even harder! Wonder if I can order tires in bulk!

 

Looks like it'll take about 5s from 0-60 with a launch. It's a bit strange to see non-linear power being delivered since I'm so used to our NA engine

 

hmm I timed it like 10 X from the start of the RPMs.. Im thinking that's well under 5 seconds, Bro.. That speedo shot up quick... Even with the excessive wheel spin and not winding out the gears it was at 60 from 0 in still under 6ish.. Of course we dont know if he was on a hill or flat surface etc.. but that looked extremely quick from 0

 

Definitely under 5 seconds! I'm thinking 4.5-4.7 seconds, which is more than quick enough for me. Though I will be putting sticker tires that can handle the power on the Q60 as it seems the OEM tires have a hard time putting all the power to the ground! Wonder how much lower better tires will decrease that also. Either way, pretty awesome. Though I am curious if that was AWD or RWD in the video.

 

I downloaded the video and pulled it into the old quicktime player, which has a little bit more playhead control over the newest version. The speedo lifts off zero right before the :05 second mark and hits 60 right after the :09 second mark.

That is well under 5 seconds and without pulling into Final Cut Pro to get a more granular time code, my back of the napkin math is saying about 4.4 - 4.5 seconds for that 0-60 rip. And that was with traction issues.

 

Yes stickier tires will be a must I think for the coupe. .its coming with more rubber on the rims than the Sedan- I think (?)
