Well, that blows. Same here. Some people thought of putting a towel over it, but I think that's a bad idea. Just ending up having a fuzzy mess, and probably end up peeling to death.

I just sent an email to the Infiniti dealership where I purchased the car to see what they will say about it. If that fails, I won't hesitate in contacting DOT.

Hopefully, something good will come out of this.

Maybe we should take up a petition here and submit to Infiniti and DOT

This is beyond cosmetics. I'm also wondering about the chemicals that are airborn as the dash melts. I'm constantly having to clean my windows that's got a residue on them.

Yes, let's start a petition. The more G37/G35 or any other model drivers who have this issue, the better chance we have!

I highly agree with the health hazard the chemicals may give off from the dash melting. Not only that, but the visual impairment from the glare!

I have the same problem with my 2011 coupe having sticky spots on the dash. Not sure how to neutralize the problem or prevent it from spreading.

Mine has started with the melting around the defroster vent. I put a dash cover on it. It has not seems to spread. My car is outside all the time and I live in Florida, so lots of sun.
I'm in if there is a petition.

We need to make a post on the melting dash and have it pinned to the top of the forum and get a count of everyone who's having the same problems.

I think there's a website that will allow people to sign up for a petition. I'll check that out.

Mine's a bit sticky too but I never really reach up there. I only notice when I try and dust off the dash. Its garage kept but still, its 9 years old.

Years ago there was a lot of (probably UNFOUNDED) hysteria about Amor-all ruining dashboards. But during this time, I made the switch to 303-Protectant and never looked back. Go to any boaters forums and these guys swear by 303-Protectant. Think about the leather/vinyl seats that are in the sun all day and are typically wet? 303 is well liked in the boating community, so I've been hooked ever since

2011 G37 coupe and no sticky dash issue. However, I did have the sticky dash on my previous IS300. Had to rip out the entire dash (took 1.5 hours to figure it out) and then stripped it (easy) and sprayed it with vinyl dash spray (easy) and then re-install (2 hours). Very doable, just need someone to document the dash removal procedure and follow it to a tee

Those of you who are NOT experiencing plastic melt, what protectants are you using? I've always used Armor All and never had any issues with plastics fading or melting (although many hate Armor All I swear by it, applied twice a year at the most).

Not being a safety concern and the car being 8-9 years old, Infiniti will tell us to pound sand. You could get lucky and get a discount on a replacement/install at the dealer but I have no doubt that would still run $2k+..

Have you called? If so, what did they say? Also, since the lawsuit seems to only target California and Texas residents, is there a way to make it more national?
