Good to hear Glenn. The gaskets should be ok since it passed the oil pressure test.

I'm going to definitely drive it more often. Hopefully, the codes don't return.

I've been driving the car more frequently and have not had the code reappear in 300 miles. This whole issue began shortly after having problems with my cruise control. Readjusted the switch under the clutch as shown on a video and the cruise issue went away for a few days than reappeared with flashing set light. I just pulled over and shut the car off, let it sit for a minute or two and restarted. No problem after that until the check engine light came on. Than I had the flashing cruise set light flashing again. Reset it the same way as previously. Just shut the engine down and restarted. Could the cruise control malfunction cause an engine misfire and low oil pressure code?

Hi Glenn. I’m not sure on our cars, but on some other makes/models, when an intermittent malfunction is detected or pending codes are stored, the ECM will disable the cruise control. Like I said, I’m not sure on the G though.

Thanks Gdaddy! I did take the car over to Autozone when the light appeared and they told me to change the ECM.

Just returned form a 2K+ miles, not a code to be seen. The car has not repeated any codes, since the low oil pressure code and engine misfire codes. Go figure?

question

Hi, this is my first post here. I've tried reading as much as I can but I'm not sure about something and I wanted to make sure that my issue is related to the low oil pressure problem you are discussing here. I was on another thread - "Infiniti G37 noise when accelerating after stop" and @mjunod suggested checking this thread and his posts on pages 16-19.
I have a 2010 G37 (105K miles) which makes brief 1 to 2 seconds pinging noise while accelerating from a stop (sometimes) . I don't have any check engine lights or codes but as @mjunod suggested this is related to the pinging noise. I wanted to ask you if this is the case and approximately how soon I should expect the dreaded codes and lights?

Thank you

I'm pretty sure nobody knows a certain answer to that. It might be not even related to each other. I also have pinging for more than a year, so far no issues.
Also multiple people in that topic, who have the noise, did not report issues with gasket except one - mjunod. It might be coincidence but might be not.

My girl's car {09 G37X} had the pinging noise for about two years, but it was not a constant noise. It would only do it once in a while. Car also went into limp mode a few times over the last two years, but after a few minutes it would go back to normal and run fine without any issues at all. had taken it to the dealer and they said the galley gasket had to be replaced. They would do it for $2,500. I took the car to a local shop I have used in the past, spoke to the mechanic and told him what I needed. He looked up the job and said he would charge me $1,100 for labor. I bought the gasket kit, a timing chain kit, and a new water pump and had him do the job.

When I had my issue the car did not throw any codes, it was just the pining I could hear as described in the other posts. The one dealer who I originally went to who could not find the problem, even when driving with an Infinitive engineer in the back with laptop hooked up, did not believe the gasket was the case of my problem. But l'll I could say is when the other dealer replaced it, I never heard the problem. I tech at the second dealer heard of another car that had that problem which directed to to look at the on my car. All I can say is I'm now at 190,000 miles an the ping never came back.

Now it's time for me to replace a leaking water pump though.
