So I'm playing Geioco's game (other party's insurance not mine) and I take it to one of their centers to get an estimate. They are very adamant that if I bring my license and title and they'll cut me a check right on the spot! Which probably appeals to some people but I know better. I get there and a very polite pimply faced kid comes outside with me to look at my car. Brings nothing but a camera. After a very cursory 5 minute inspection he says "OK". I asked if he'd like to look inside the trunk. He asks why. SMH. "Because there's damage in there that you cant see from outside." "Oh..." I open the trunk and lift the carpet to show him that the plastic false trunk floor is pretty bent. Which means that the metal trunk floor beneath it is bent, which means that the bumper reinforcement is bent. He takes a quick snapshot and we go inside. He works on his computer and makes a phone call for about 10-15 minutes. Then he gives me an estimate of $1200 or so to take to my shop. The only part listed is the bumper cover. Nothing else. This is where the fun starts. I go over to Richey Collision and show it to Karen. She laughs and says that she knows it's going to cost way more without even looking at it! We take a look and she points out half a dozen or more things that aren't even on his estimate. Karen eats insurance companies for breakfast. Without a tear down she estimates it'll be at least 3 or 4 times their estimate. so I'm taking it back to drop it off on Monday (they are always busy) and she will call their adjuster clown up there, tear it down in front of him, and tell him how much it will really cost (using OEM parts, not the aftermarket crap they figured) and that they are going to pay it. And they will. I'll update when I have the actual price.

OT: there was a pitiful 2013 Camaro ZL1with over $20K just in bolt ons (not including labor) sitting in their yard totalled. Makes baby Jesus cry.

"God...... Smite thy G37 enemies with your infiniti wrath, and may all the insurance adjusters catch the clap from their wives". Sorry about the situation, my man. It'll get worked out, and Betty will be good as new in no time flat.

I'm not worried, Karen is a bulldog. We just recently had to get my wife's car fixed becasue some jackass smashed into her G. We never even had to deal with the insurance company once regarding he repair. Karen did it and used top notch materials including OEM parts even though they wanted to pay for aftermarket stuff. She's very, very good at dealing with insurance companies and their BS on the customer's behalf.

i feel your pain! my front bumper recently got smashed in and when i sent my car to the adjuster he wrote me a check for about 2k, he and i both knew that it wasnt going to cover it. so my car has been at SABS for about over a month and it turns out that my core support was slightly damaged and insurance decided to go cheap and send them a used pair of headlights that turned out to be broken and now i guess theyre tired of dealing with my car so they just gave up and decided to get me knew ones! i was pretty depressed when this all happened so i went off on a rampage and puchased a V2 diffuser, aero skirts, and aero bumper (courtesy of state farm)

I got rear ended last month, but it wasn't this bad. The insurance gave me a nice $2,300 check; I'm surprised they paid me $500 for my Autokits diffuser.

My insurance (AAA) covers aftermarket parts too. Actually, when I asked, I was asking about my wheel spacers just to make sure I was not voiding my coverage with wheel spacers installed. The agent said that not only they wouldn't void my warranty but they were covered if I kept my receipts

installing twin turbos and than kind of stuff its another story

If the other driver is at fault, their insurance covers anything on your car that is damaged that needs to be repaired or replaced, aftermarket or not.
