Driving home form work in rush hour traffic in Houston. My commute is usually very smooth but there happened to be a wreck up ahead on the freeway. Traffic came to a stop so I stopped. Traffic started to move but before I could go, a guy behind me in a Tahoe smashes into me. Poor Betty. The Tahoe guy barely even has a scratch. Amazing.

Yes, I know my car is extremely filthy (it's supposed to be black) but I have been on the road a lot in the rain so its dirty. She's a daily driver with over 98K miles, not a garage queen like some of your cars. Give me a break.

This is unbelieveable. At least no one was hurt, but the cars certainly did take a beating.

C'mon man, you don't think I'm one of those guys do you? IPL bumpers belong on IPLs. I have a Top Secret Aero bumper that is in my garage. I had taken it off becasue it has a little damage and needs to be repainted. That actually turned out to be a little bit lucky because this would have smashed it to pieces.

LOL. Keep up the good humor. +1

On a positive note, the body shop will wash your car before returning it to you.

I'm actually quite proud of my self for taking it so well. I was completely calm and composed. I didn't yell at the guy or call him an idiot. I got extremely annoyed when he suggested that he has this buddy who used to be a paint and body guy at a Honda dealership and if we just took it to him, he could do an awesome job for me. I told him I'd rather not and he actually said to me, "But if you call the cops they'll file a report and give me a ticket and my insurance will go up. I don't want that man." I kid you not. Needless to say HPD were called and an accident report was filed. I don't know his buddy and I can guarantee you there is a lot more damage than meets the eye. The plastic trunk floor is bent which means the metal trunk floor beneath it is bent. And the police wrote it up and left so fast it wasn't funny. He didn't get a ticket. But his insurance company was calling me to set up a meet with their adjuster when I walked in the door.

Trying to weasel out of his responsibility.... Typical. Glad you didn't react poorly to this incident. It would have probably made the situation worse. "But my insurance" Funny how people think about themselves before thinking about the person(s) they've wronged.

I couldn't help but think about "I can fix it" when you talked about his buddy fixing it. Hope it helps take the sting out.
