G37 G35 all Infinitis being broken in too NJ
If Infiniti's do in fact prove to be easier to break into than other cars this will affect insurance rates. Although this is not an Infiniti problem I think that Infiniti should address this issue with future model years.
I have a g37s and my car was broken into in the same exact way in Jersey City late July. Obviously I should have known better then to leave my car there overnight, but it was that or drive drunk. Obviously the thieves know what they are doing and target infiniti's. They left an M3, a benz, and a Range all untouched that night.
A friend of mine had an FX(05 I believe) and his car was broken into 2 times the same exact way. First time he got it fixed immediately and the night he brought it home they hit him again. So he left the car like that for the life of the lease. He told me that every infiniti on his block has been hit as well. I also know a few people that had the g35 coupe and same exact thing. If I had known this prior to getting the car I may have went with the BMW.
The worst part is the dealership knows that this is a problem so Im guessing their corporate office knows as well. I called Ramsey service department and told them my car was broken into and the guy said, "let me guess they punched a hole in the door and your windows went down?"
Has anyone thought about starting a class action law suit against infiniti? I'd like to get back at a minimum the cost of my deductible for getting the car fixed. Or has anyone written a letter to infiniti about this issue and had them refund your deductible?

Do you not realize that all cars with automatic opening windows, via the key hole, have this same problem?
Where you can automatically activate the windows by your remote, a thief can do the same by a computerized infrared device.
What about the people with computerized garage door openers? Should the automatic garage door companies go out of business because someone can drive by your house and open the garage with a computerized sending unit?

The simple solution here is that the car should demand proximity of the keyfob before authorizing the window-drop feature, *just like the trunk release button on your tail-light does*
This is most definitely a design oversight on Nissan/Infiniti's part. The window-drop feature operates mechanically without any electronic security handshake. If I designed the software application I work on every day like this, I'd be (rightfully) fired on the spot.
The point I was trying to make was that a thief with access to the necessary equipment and the knowhow could "bypass" the fob and steal the whole car. A problem bigger than losing an ipod, garmin and diesel jeans.
hmm this is crazy. well back in 06 i had my g35 broken into but i didnt have anything in there and ever since then i guess it has been broken into yet.
just a little tip for everyone. dont leave anything that is valueable in the car even the owners manual. i keep my owners manual at my house because i know if i lose that thing i the car im fked.
and before we complain to nissian/infiniti let do our part first and leave nothing in the car then if your car still keeps on getting hit then call infiniti about this problem.

Maybe send an update for dealer service to install/download on your next oil change, service, etc. It can be done! Would they(Infinti)? possible/maybe not
Makes you think twice about getting a G or other cars with this feature if your in a high theft area. Yea you can lower your deductables, but know one wants to go thru having there car get raped.
^^^EXACTLY. Was gonna say that but didnt wanna double up. Im pretty sure theres gotta be some way for the developers to revise the processors program to "look" for the RFID before letting the windows down.

This was a hot subject a year ago. This has been an issue for many years with the Nissan/Infiniti product lines. Here is a link on G35driver for a quick fix. Only problem it doesn't keep the thief from attempting and causing damage anyway. We need someone to make a sticker indicating the door has been modified but that would **** off the thief and would key the car etc. causing more damage.

Got mine too...
Got into mine as well,, same thing as always punch the Keyhole in and hit the sensor wondows down no alarm sounds and it only takes seconds. I would rather a smashed window. Nothing was visable its just a good % they they will get atleast an Ipod.
I dont even want to fix it and have had the car for 3 months. Its IP White so whole door and rear quarter need to be painted. This will not stop and only get worse.
