In canada at least, civics are the #1 car mostly likely to be stolen/broken into lol......

Yeah, rebadge as a civic and they won't break in... they'll just take the entire car. And then they'll rice it out ;(

Dude, I'm sorry to hear this. It never ceases to amaze me how assy people can be. No one has respect for other peoples' property anymore. It's just disgusting. I hope you were able to get your car repaired without too much hassle. I'm in FL, but from South Jersey so I sympathize with you. There are hardly any Gs in the Panhandle so I doubt we'll have as much trouble, but I agree Infiniti might want to look at their locking system.

Thieves just hammer an undersized socket onto the lugs and torque them off that way. Wheels locks only slow them down. Whats good is to change all the lug nutz to wheel locks making it more complicated for them which might drive them away. One wheel lock on each will be tolerable to them but 4 would be crazy. I think it's funny how you could invest money into a G but not have a garage to keep it in.

Invest in one of those motion sensors thingys that alert you from within your house when the car senses movement. I think they vibrate and chirp to let you know. Anyone using airbag locks and brake locks?

yea they can steal whatever they want...especially whel locked rims..no problem...but you cant use 5 locks...locks are not suppsed to be torquesd to the same spec as regular lugs...locks go on last and dont get fully tightened...so 5 lugs is def not safe..lol...
but NEEDING a garage for a G37..lol....its a every day car, INFINITI not a FERRARI,,,lol...but i mean if you have a garage by all means enjoy it....i know i have one of the nicest on the forums and i park my car in Newark, Elizabeth, and on my driveway in a suburb....but if someone wants something they gnna take it regardless...

def good ideas to DETOUR the thieves...
a set of wheel locks, helps but not the best
if ur car is on the driveway get a motion sensored spot light
aftermarket alarm for sure
QUIT THE HARD LOOKS AT PEOPLE
dont show ur ish off like its a half million dollar whip
air ride so when u park you can slam it and it cant be flatbedded away...lol
driverside keyhole COVER, this really helps believe it or not...

so i'm hoping someone can clarify this for me... the thieves are breaking into the cars to get the key code; and the key code is in our owners manual?

I'm just wondering what I can take out and what I should leave in the car.

Thanks in advance!

no the driver side keyhole has a sensor in it, once its jammed with something and turned the windows go down, just like the key goes in it and turned.....its a feature incase you were not aware....

or they jab right under and to the right of the keyhole with a punch, or screwdriver and get in to the car bc it also drops the windows...

Paragraph 3 under Wheel Lock Installation & Removal Instructions; Installation of McGard (Infiniti's OEM supplier) Lock Nuts/Lock Bolts:

"Using the McGard key and a wrench, tighten each lock to the torque specified in your vehicle owner's manual. For best results, use a torque wrench and socket. "

and theres no valid point there....it jsut says to tighten the lock to torque specified FOR THE LOCK, not same as a lugnut...
