G37 roof broke

Hi everyone. I got g37 convertible and trying to figure out what's wrong with my roof. When I'm trying to open it the trunk opens (when I press button to open top) but roof itself doesn't move at all.
where should I start or maybe you can suggest someone in Los Angeles who can fix it.
Thank you in advance.
I'm pretty sure this topic was discussed previously but I can't find similar issues.

Do you ear if the front latches(near the windshield) are releasing? ( you should heard a clunk noise). Other things to check are your side flaps...they are suppose to be first ones to deploy before the top itself open. (Broken flap gears are one of the most common problems with those verts). If one flap is hanging or not completely at is closed position, it's a broken gear for sure!

That's what I noticed too. Latches doesn't make any noise. 100% not working. Just trunk opens the opposite way and that's it. I'll check flaps. Thank you!

Yes, you right. Those side flaps doesn't work. Trunk opens and that's it. Any advice on what should I do with them? Obviously replace But maybe someone already changed them here.

I'm a bit surprise that both flaps wont move!? Maybe, you should check if they are solid stay ( try to slightly pull the flipper arm to see if it move) Normally, when a flap gear broke down, the flipper arm will hang or will stop in middle course ( dependaing of what years si your vert...Infiniti changed the gear design in 2012) but, i've never heard about both ones stoping to move at all unless the trouble may come from somewhere else...

I'll check very carefully. Mine is 2010 with 96K miles. And it looks like gears quite often go bad on those. But for the past year previous owner hasn't used roof.

So, I checked it again. Latch on the roof (under the windshield) make noise but flaps do not move. Both of them. They tried to move but after a short wobble stop. Aria itself looks extremely clean. No rust or other visible damages. Does it give you any other ideas?

If you just purchase the car, previous owner may have encounter broken both flippers failure, in different time, and never get them repaired but again...it's the first time that I heard about 2 flippers broken at the same time.

I would be pleased to sell you new gears but, I suggest that you investige more deeper, just to be sure that is realy the problem.

Probably the best way to disconnect one of them and take a look at it. You have a website where you sell them or it's just direct sale? How much are they?

I asked the previous owner, we staying in touch, and he said it was just sitting in a garage for a month and then stopped working. He never tryed to fix flaps. Could it be simply old battery? It's 2017.

I sell them on Ebay AND either on direct sale with PayPal (no Ebay fees and taxes and lower shipping.)

It may be a good idea to check the battery health who can cause that problem with the top operation.

If it ends by needing to replace both flipper gears, you can email me at "guy.menard305@videotron.ca" directly for further infos and total price...If you want to check for the gears states, it's not a quick task, you will need to remove the flipper arm linkage assembly(I can send you the installation instructions that I provide with my gears, if you need it).

Good luck!
Note: It can't be a 2017...they stop production in 2015!

I think he meant the battery was installed in 2017?
I would suggest that if you are going to go through all the effort of checking the flapper gears, it may be wise to purchase the gears from Guy so you will have them on hand if needed. That is, if Guy will accept returns if they're not needed.
IMO it would be highly unusual for them both to have broken at the same time.

PROMBELM SOLVED.

I meant the battery. It has a 2017 sticker. Not a native speaker sorry Car itself is 2010.
I checked the battery. And guess what? The roof opened right away. Ot's working fine with 0 issues right now. Look like hydraulic system is very sensitive to that. Thank you for the guidance and advice! I'm pretty sure at some point flaps or something else would break and and comeback here. Meanwhile I'll get some low temperature lubricant and go through the main connecting points to make life of that whole think easier. Hope this post would help someone in the furute as well.
